Parting Shots From Pelosi And Hoyer

By Daniel W. Reilly

(The Politico)  Shortly after engineering the successful bailout vote, Speaker Nancy Pelosi got in one last dig.

"We were dealt a bad hand and we made the most of it," Pelosi said.

During a press confernce after the vote, Pelosi signed the bill and sent it off to the White House.

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer couldn't resist getting in one last dig either.

"In spite of what the Senate did, a lot of Democrats stuck with the bill because they thought it was too important [to fail]," Hoyer said, referring to the tax extender package that the Senate added on.
