(CBS)  Country music was always a part of singer/songwriter Jewel's soul.

More than a decade removed from the release of her debut album "Pieces of You," Jewel is returning to her country roots with the release of her seventh album "Perfectly Clear" in addition to a DVD of her most memorable live performances.

"I started writing country music when I was about 16 and some of these songs date back to them. My title track, "Perfectly Clear" I wrote when I was 18. It talks a lot about my roots. I was raised on a ranch in Alaska and my dad is a cowboy. So, I was finally able to incorporate my childhood into my music," Jewel told Early Show co-anchor Julie Chen.

The singer/songwriter is still glowing from her wedding in June to longtime boyfriend and rodeo cowboy, Ty Murray.

"The wedding was great. It feels great. I am really excited to be married. Actually it does (feel different); I feel a lot more settled. It's really nice." she said.

Having grown up on a farm, Jewel has teamed up with Campbell Soup Company and the National Future Farmers of America in support of the "Help Grow Your Soup" campaign.

"I am really proud, I grew up eating my own food, we raised our own food and we had a garden. I am really glad to be a part of something that helps the American farmer," Jewel said.

"Perfectly Clear" debuted at #1 on the U.S. Billboard Top Country Albums chart, and has featured two charted country singles, "Stronger Woman" and "I Do."
