Clay Aiken Confirms He's Gay

By
CBSNews
(CBS/ AP)  Clay Aiken is finally confirming what many people already knew: He's gay.

The cover of the latest People magazine shows Aiken holding his infant son, Parker Foster Aiken, with the headline: "Yes, I'm Gay." The cover also has the quote: "I cannot raise a child to lie or hide things."

The magazine has an interview with Aiken and confirmed that he was on the cover but refused to release the article to The Associated Press until Wednesday.

The baby's mother is Aiken's friend and record producer Jaymes Foster.

Aiken, who gained fame as the runner-up on "American Idol" in 2003, rarely addressed the frequent rumors about his sexuality. In an interview with The Associated Press two years ago, he said: "I don't really feel like I have anybody to answer to but myself and God and the people I love."

In 2006, Aiken dismissed a question about his sexuality from ABC News' Diane Sawyer as "rude."

The multiplatinum singer recently released the CD "On My Way Here" and made his Broadway debut this spring in "Monty Python's Spamalot."

Really? You mean like taking one passage from Leviticus and using it to denounce h0m0$exuality, while ignoring all the rest of the bible? Like that?

Whoda thought?

Yea, exactly like that. The Bible has a continuous theme that the entire human race has an inherent morality problem, not just homosexuality. In fact, it indicates that the most serious "sin" is pride.

The punch line to that is that God recognized the problem and provided a solution for the sin problem. Every single one of us has that problem according to the Bible. In "theory", the entire human race needs to accept the accept the answer to the sin problem.

So it''s not just gayes, junkies, Democrats, or the proud and arrogant-it''s everybody.

None of us is good on our own-we can''t do it. And that is pretty much the gist of the "fall of man" and his redemption. Oh by the way, in case your interested, it''s a free gift.

Seems like a lot of fundamentalists are quick with word, slow with meaning and context. For example, would the person who quoted the Leviticus scripture stone their child for disoebdience? Have they ever eaten shell fish? This, too, is an aobomination! You also can''t touch the skin of a dead pig. Hence, Super Bowl = hell.

My point is that the O.T. shows that legalism does not work. Jesus came to bring a way of peace and grace. Freedom and accepetance, even for *** (sorry fundamentalist)

But what of Romans and 1st Corinthians, you ask. It condemns pedestary, pedophilia, in which a young student was used sexually by an older, same ***, mentor. Not exactly what we condemn today.

Here is one for you....the law and the prophets is summarized by loving God and people (Matthew 22) How about we give that a try?

To "teeus", God''''s Word: "Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable." What part of this is it that we all seem to NOT understand!

And by the way, we are not judging, GOD is and if one has a problem with His Word...

Okay, first of all--why are you ignoring all the other helpful tips in that same part of the bible that gives you your justification for being h0m0phobic? The stuff about killing your neighbors etc? Talk about cherry picking your facts.

Second--Who are you to judge in Gods place? If you think God will handle this, then shut your pie hole. God doesn''t need you to wag your finger at the rest of us.

Personally, I think God loves everyone and forgives everyone. We''ll find out evetually. Don''t presume to know what God thinks.

you need to be careful when using the Bible as a reference-Taken out of context, Bible quotes can be problematic.

Well, I don''t have any concern about Clay Aiken''s *** life. The fact that he is a **** has no bearing whatsoever on his musical talent. He''s good, and that''a a fact. However, I do wish he had cut down on some of the drama and admitted it when asked. If he truly wanted to be honest, what was the big deal?

Posted by raflin01 at 12:03 AM : Sep 25, 2008 -Isn''''t it "fun" that people are SO CONCERNED with OTHER people''''s bedrooms?? You have to wonder why people are so obsessed with what other people do in their bedrooms. The logical conclusion is that nothing is happening in THEIR own bedrooms, so they obsess over other peoples''''.......kinda weird ain''''t it?

Only and idiot could come up with that conclusion.

You know, I did read the bible. And it said "judge not, lest you yourself be judged."

Tee,

you need to be careful when using the Bible as a reference-Taken out of context, Bible quotes can be problematic. For example:

"Ye shall know the tree by the fruit...".

A person can read a lot into that one statement.

Just a thought

All of that rhetoric just to tell people you are gaye?

Just a thought. There is a possibility you are misusing the term "phobe". Phobe suggests fear.

You may find that people that criticize hom*osexuality actually are experiencing emotions other than fear. Try hard not to read anything in to this observation other than it is simply an observation.

Oh, and ya know what''s even better?

The American Psychological Association, the American Medical Association, the American Psychiatric Association, the American Anthropological Association, the World Health Organization, the American Counseling Association, the National Association of Social Workers, the Council on Child and Adolescent Health, and the American Academy of Pediatrics have ALL concluded that homosexuality is no less natural than heterosexuality. Every one of these organizations, in addition to the vast majority of legal scholars, SUPPORTS gay marriage.

Did I mention these are EDUCATED people/scientists who actually have a college degree or two and can think logically (unlike the typical religious nutjob)? Clearly the more brains ya have, the more tolerant and enlightened you''ll likely be (the dumber you are, the more anti-gay you''ll likely be).

If conservative/homophobic nuts would spend a little more time in school and less time sticking their noses into other people''s personal lives (which don''t affect them one bit), then they might earn some respect from those of us who are educated and civilized.

*** are everywhere! They''re not going anywhere! And they%u2019ll continue to be more visible, whether ya like it or not! So better start getting used to it. Either that or go find a rock to hide under.

Dang! It%u2019s so much fun smacking a phobe around every now and then (on the internet as well as in the bar). Hehehe.
