(CBS)  The versatile Charlize Theron has made a name for herself playing provocative roles such as a serial killer in "Monster" and a sexually harassed mineworker in North Country. She has another role in what may be her most controversial film yet: "Battle in Seattle" is a powerful drama about the anti-globalization riots that engulfed Seattle in 1999.

The documentary-style film focuses on a dozen characters swept up in the protests, which brought the World Trade Organization's meeting to a halt.

About 80,000 activists from around the world converged on Seattle to expose what they claimed was the chasm between those who wanted to harness globalization and those who intended to stop it.

Hundreds were arrested after police fired tear gas and rubber bullets on crowds as the demonstration spiraled out of control.

Theron and co-star Martin Henderson sat down with Early Show co-anchor Harry Smith to talk about the film. To watch the interview, click the play button below.
