(CBS)  High school is often a complicated chapter of people's lives. As adults, some wonder what it'd be like to go back. As The Early Show correspondent Michele Gielan reports, one 33-year-old Wisconsin woman went so far as to steal her daughter's identity to do just that.

The cheerleading squad at Ashwaubenon High near Green Bay, Wis. Wendy Brown wanted to be part of it all. But at 33, she needed help. So police say she stole her 15-year-old daughter's identity.

Brown tried out for cheerleading during the summer and attended one day of classes - but then, never returned. That raised a red flag and launched an investigation. Soon, truant officers found Wendy --- sitting in the county jail.

"Ms. Brown's criminal history says she's been involved in fraud and deceptive practices across the country for most of her adult life," said Lt. Jody Crocker, an Ashwaubenon Public Safety officer. "It comes to no surprise to us that she was able to pull something like this off."

But a 33-year-old high school student? Did anyone notice anything wrong?

"I thought it was really bizarre," said student Hope Edlebeck. "It's just something you never hear. A 33-year-old going to school."

"She did look a little insignificantly older, but you didn't want to question it," noted student Spencer Corpus. "You just go aw, alright, whatever."

"I can only guess if history repeats itself her motive has something to do with money," Crocker said. "Unless we take it at face value that she wanted to go and relive her childhood. I personally don't buy that."

But apparently teachers and students at the high school did. So it's safe to say this is one for the yearbook.

I remember a TV movie from years ago that was similar to this. However, the mom faking the identity of a teenager was really an undercover cop investigating something, drugs in the school or a murder. She, of course, went to the principal to arrange the fake identity. I say, if you are 33 and can pull off being a teenager, more power to the mom. If, I could do it, which I could not, I would have done some kind of story with the backing of a magazine. The mom who did this must be really desperate in her attempt to relive her youth. I hope she can grow up now.

I just remember, after I graduated, I went back to the old school one year later to show my new boyfriend my high school. Some kid running the track called out, "Hey ma''am, what time is it?" What a shocker, I looked like a ma''am one year later? Oh well.

I had to laugh at the comment about one''s going back to school at 33. I was doing that right into my 60s, though not back to high school, which I was exoelled from at age 15. When you consider the heinous crimes -- rape, robbery, murder, embezzlement -- the desire to be a cheer leader (even with a false identity) is small potatoes. Rewarding her might have kept her from more grevious crimes and saved the taxpayer the cost of jailing her, which people are so fond of doing to others.

Billionaires living off bank and mortgage scams *** near managed to bankrupt America today. And we''re talking about a phony cheerleader.

Well, it does provide comic relief.

Women generally do not tolerate having their own fantasies go unfulfilled. Its OK to deny the husband of all his fantasies, but women will not be denied.
