(AP)  A British jury has found three men guilty of conspiracy to murder in a terrorist bombing campaign, but did not find enough evidence to convict them of a plot to blow up trans-Atlantic airliners.

A jury on Monday found that Abdulla Ahmed Ali and coconspirators Assad Sarwar and Tanvir Hussain intended to murder people using a form of hydrogen peroxide to make a bomb.

Prosecutors said a group led by Ali considered national infrastructure targets including gas terminals, oil refineries and Heathrow Airport. However, the jury was unable to reach a verdict on prosecutors' claims that Ali intended to target passenger jets flying from London to major North American cities with suicide attacks.

The jury failed to reach verdicts on charges against four other defendants — Ibrahim Savant, Arafat Waheed Khan, Waheed Zaman and Umar Islam.

An eighth man, Mohammed Gulzar, was found not guilty.

Prosecutor Peter Wright said during the trial that the men planned to attack United Airlines, American Airlines and Air Canada flights at the height of the 2006 summer vacation season.

Watch for the Republican pardons of cronies, like Scooter Libby, to take place on January 19, 2009 at the latest....or, what the heck....December 24, 2008 while the Bush/Cheney Administration is still in office.

Dispose of them all in a most heinous manner.

They will spend the rest of their lives in one of England''s deepest holes. I think this is the fourth group of terrorists found, tried and imprisoned by the Brits since 9/11. What has Bush done in the same time? Held a few hundred suspects in an illegal prison camp, and tried bin Laden''s chauffeur (who was found innocent of all but the lightest charges). A completely pathetic record.

The Judge in this case should order that the three convicted Felons receive full frontal lobotomies for the treatment of severe paranoid schizophrenia. Some mental patients are released from prison after the surgical procedure. Why warehouse terrorists? It makes better sense to use therapy than repressive penal measures.

This is a violation of their religous rights. The favorite way for a muslim get to heaven is human sacrifice. Amnesty International, the ACLU, and U.N. should protest.

And the libs and lefties complain and cry bitter tears about the War on Terror? They scream that the terrorist''s rights are being infringed upon and they can''t have a fair trial? What about the thousands of victims of terrorism whose rights were violated and will never have a chance to defend themselves? They can''t because they are dead.

These guys, along with the 9/11 terrorists, Cole bombers and embassy bombers are the best reasons to profile in the world. Sorry if it hurts some of your feelings, but I''d rather be safe and hurt a few feelings than be dead and make some people feel good.

I did, and it concerns me. It concerns me just as much as does all the violence that appears in our own beloved Old Testament of our Christian faith...that has always concerned me.

Can you believe that we don''t profile?
You''d have to be a liberal, the ACLU or an idiot not scrutinize these three.

I remember one detonating a truck load of fertilizer next to a building in Oklahoma and murdering 168 people in an act of terrorism rivaling an Al''qaeda attack.

No ideology or religion is immune from extremism. To focus purely on the most recent examples is very naive.

As a Briton, I want to distance myself from such a crass comment by somebody in my country.

Sweeping statements about the people of different nationalities can do a lot of harm.

What matters is how one person gets on with another, regardless of country, religion, etc.

But that''s too difficult for some, so they take refuge in meaningless generalisations.

I didn''t "actually dispute" your generalisation because to do so would have given it an undeserved credibility. I certainly don''t "know it to be generally true".

Your generalisation was an unfavourable comparison between justice-loving British and revenge-seeking Americans. I called that crass, and it is.

My words and tone were crystal clear.

Well, of course you can''t hear my tone, but I''m writing not singing.

Oxford Concise Dictionary : tone. Definition 3 - a manner of expression in writing. Definition 6b - an attitude or sentiment expressed esp. in a letter etc.

There''s no point in having a debate!

I consider a debate to be an exchange of views, with the possibility that one person might influence or even change the opinion of the other.

That won''t happen here. It''s why I said there''s no point in having a debate.
We''d be repeating positions already made clear, perhaps spiced up with clever-clever remarks - a waste of time and, frankly, boring for other posters.

If you really want a discussion, why not repeat for the benefit of other posters your original generalisation from which, as a fellow Briton, I distanced myself? Maybe someone else will oblige.

You may imagine that you speak for British people - I don''t know - but you don''t speak for me.

It''s the third time you''ve blustered that you''re right and that I know you''re right.

All because I won''t "debate" your generalisation. It''s crass because it''s a generalisation.

I won''t "debate" such an excuse for proper thought. As a fellow Briton, I felt strongly enough to want to publicly distance myself from what you posted.

Let me remind you. You posted this opinion : "That''s because in Britain we believe in justice, whilst Americans believe in revenge.......against anyone, it doesn''t really matter who".

Such a statement isn''t worthy of debate.
