Crowdgather, an ad net focused in community sites, has bought Zealot.com, a forum site for hobbyists. Terms weren't disclosed. In particular, Zealot's 33,000 members are interested in discussing crafting model planes, trains and boats. The acquisition is intended to further Woodland Hills, CA.-based Crowdgather's plans to build an ad net comprised of "special interest" websites. In addition to catering to "hobby enthusiasts," Crowdgather wants to work with sites focused on tech, cars, home and family, travel and entertainment, news and reference, culture and society, sports and fitness, dating, fashion and beauty, and pets.
