Twenty-eight-year-old China Arnold chose not to be in the courtroom for Monday's sentencing.
Arnold was convicted of aggravated murder in the 2005 death of month-old daughter Paris Talley.
She was spared the death penalty because jurors could not reach a consensus on the punishment.
It was Arnold's second trial; the first ended in a mistrial when new witnesses surfaced.
Defense attorney Jon Paul Rion has asked for a third trial, saying a former cellmate who said Arnold confessed has now changed her story.
The defense had argued that Arnold was drunk when the offense occurred and had no motive, while prosecutors had called the crime "heinous" as they argued for the death penalty.
During the trial, an 8-year-old boy said he saw another boy walk into the kitchen of a nearby apartment with the baby, heard the microwave go on and then later saw the burned baby in the microwave.

I guess Andrea Yates should sue the manufacturer of the bathtub she drowned her FIVE children in too.
I believe in Criminals never seeing ligh again.
Maybe, the picture shows that this person is already dead.
jailhouse snitches should not be allowed.
I just hope that this story is checked out.
Shanev137, Actually there was a case within the last 12 months where a father DID put his infant in the microwave. I don''t THINK his baby died but he claimed a mental problem (which there was record of.) The case did leave media spotlight after the initial report so there IS gender bias.

The last I heard, there has been over 30 million abortions since Roe vs. Wade. Yes, I agree with you; the left should keep killing their babies. We certainly want fewer people on the left.

Do it again elfelon. Keep doing it until it is rendered useless to make certain that someone of your mentality doesn''t create another like you.

No, it can''t. But that doesn''t mean I''m against giving her a lobotomy anyway.
Answer: Because that wouldn''t cost us tax payers a few hundred thousand dollars to pay for her actions. We ALL must pay for her actions.

Yes, and we all will. I just think that she should have to feel what it felt like to the infant to be burned to death from the inside out.
Wow, a political twist to a horrifyingly unpolitical story.
I can picture now a parrot squawking from their perch over and over the same thing. Do you have any depth?
But let''s go with your post a little...invite back those 30 million more people who will need housing, food, gas, jobs, etc. etc. And don''t wuss out with some lame left joke.
Seriously, we continue to increase the human population to what level? Fine, don''t support abortion but make sure you support and fund contraceptives and birth control. The right is really a bunch of wacko''s when you come down to it. The left are no better but THINK WILL YA!?!?!?
Dat Ho be wack.
Of course other scenarios are possible.

This kind of jibberish is not needed.

Wow! You think your judgement is so superior to others based on reading one sentence in a news story ?

Yea....the first thing most people think about when they get drunk is nuking a baby.
Time to sue Budweiser for making her do it.
At least it was a baby. The mother is a sick mutha, you bet, but look at the world the baby is going to be growing up in if current trends continue.
Not sure how a human can cook a baby in a microwave and not have intent ... drunk or not ...
last time I used one you HAD to close the door and set the timer and energize the unit ... takes a little thought to do that ..
I guess they could not decide on whether she was drunk enough ..
Hopefully she gets an opportunity to work in the kitchen and use a microwave on a daily basis ... if she survives the prison code of conduct ... not sure the other inmates will have the same empathy for her ...

I hope Twenty-eight-year-old China Arnold dies in prison soon.

I agree the woman should have recieved a death sentence. In Texas she would have.
The females in prison take offense at a woman who murders an innocent baby, she won''t last long unless she is in solitary confinment...for ever.
Ohio''s legal system stinks by the way.
This just goes to show you that it''s nearly impossible for a woman to ever get the death penalty...
If it was a guy, Wham! (or crackle, crackle).....
'' .. even when public education was a vandate, people were still largely uneducated and impoverished, and still had to be paid even just to travel and browse opportunitys to volunteer, lest they should curl up in some dark lonely alley cavern and just die .. ''
Sterilize yourselves!
You don''t want to raise a baby. So don''t have one. Tie your d a m n tubes & then tie ''em again. Burn off the ends just to be sure.
'' .. the african multi trillion dollar nuclear biological chemical stealth ray pow dare camp shock and awe soldiets assured me that if they had raped and killed all those war babys, their prisons would not be full of poor yankees and asians, but rich african soldiets instead .. ''
'' .. while no one truly demands charity deep-down, there is a subtle and undenyable and unending expectation that some things will always be inevitable: the weak will ease the burdens of the strong, the ill will fetch the errands of the well, the poor will pay the debts of the wealthy, the babys and other civilians will go through the wars with no flak jackets or machine guns so the soliets way too young and way too old and everywhere in between won''t have to .. without these timeless expectations of the way things ought to be, we''ll all suffer and die in a pit of unending despair and wretchedness worse than lucifers house and the world will collapse into cataclysm and we''ll all be dead .. What you fail to consider is that these women were tried in different states by different juries with different judges and different defense and prosecution lawyers. Even the wording of the laws vary from state to state. To blame race for the differences in the sentencing is getting old, very old, and should only happen when there is evidence that race really affected a trial.
