But of those who did have opinions, 26 percent of the most recently polled were favorable, while only 13 percent were not favorable.
More than one in four voters said that the vice presidential choices will matter this year, but few voters say that having Palin on the Republican ticket will change their vote. Just 14 percent said they are more likely to vote for McCain as a result of having Palin on the ticket, while 13 percent said they are less likely to do so. Sixty-eight percent said it won’t make a difference in their vote.
Seventy-four percent of voters said the addition of Joe Biden to the Democratic ticket made no impact on how they will vote. But those who said Barack Obama's choice mattered to them were three times as likely to say that Biden will make them vote for Obama rather than against him.
Read The Complete PollThis poll was conducted among a random sample of 613 adults nationwide, including 540 registered voters, interviewed by telephone September 1-2, 2008. Phone numbers were dialed from RDD samples of both standard land-lines and cell phones. The error due to sampling for results based on the entire sample could be plus or minus three percentage points; for registered voters the sampling error could be plus or minus four percentage points. The error for subgroups is higher.

- After seeing all the tough nicknames for Sarah Palin (barracuda, killa from wasilla, bulldog with lipstick), it occurred to me that the Republican party has finally come clean. They now admit who they really are.
Old Slogan: We are compassionate conservatives, please vote for us.
New Slogan: Vote for us or we will fricken KILL YOU! - Reply to this comment
- Palin is not qualified to be vice-president.This was just an impulsive hasty pick to satisfy the base!!!
Karl Rove and company will do anything it takes to stay in power.John McCain is a very sad man.He could not even stand up to his own party.Maverick!! What a joke!! - Reply to this comment

- Former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani said that Palin is more qualified to be president than Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama, citing Palin''s executive experience, saying of her, "She''s vetoed legislation, she''s taken on corruption, and in her party, and won. She took on the oil companies and won. She administered a budget successfully," and of Obama, "He''s never run a city, he''s never run a state, he''s never run a business, he''s never administered a payroll, he''s never led people in crisis".[244]

- McCain received the support of Independent Democrat Joe Lieberman, who said, "I happen to think (McCain) is the best of all candidates to unite our country across political lines so we can begin to solve some of the problems people have."
Lieberman stated that McCain made a "bold choice" in picking a "maverick who has done exactly the same thing at the state level that he''s done at the federal level." Camille Paglia, a feminist social critic, stated "As a Democrat, I am reeling...(t)hat was the best political speech I have ever seen delivered by an American woman politician." - Reply to this comment
- Mrs. Palin has shown herself to be a strong opponent, and positive running mate. She brings integrity, into the arena, while defending her moral principles, and personal ethics. She has shown herself able to take the political, and sexist attacks the Obama supporting media has been dishing out by the truck load. I was %u201Cglad to see%u201D her land a few blows on the chins of those people.
I continue to be amazed at the amount of exaggerated rhetoric, coming from the contemptuous, and condescending %u201CObama supporting public%u201D. %u201CIt%u2019s bad for politics, and it%u2019s bad for your candidate%u201D.
It doesn''''t have to be that way. You can be civil to make your point. "Even if it%u2019s a bad point"!
I say%u2026 %u201CTrivialize her at your own peril. - Reply to this comment
- tweb-regarding the abc news crew, go to dogpile.com and put in abc news crew and dnc convention. There''s the story for you. The real story is the crew got hauled away for taking pictures of some of your big shots visiting the corporate suites.
Don''t you people ever get tired of being in the dark?? Don''t you people ever wonder why there is never any negative stories on your guys??
My God, how stupid can you be. - Reply to this comment
- tbweb-Uh, I think you may be talking about the new crew that was roughed up at the dnc convention there, sweetie. Yep, it was on FOX the week of the convention and it wasn''t mentioned on any of your msm in the tank, taking up the yingyang outlets. Funny how that happens.
See, the dems weren''t allowing any media to be around the million dollar corporate suites and they did not allow any photos of any of your big shots going to or from the suites.
Also, you may want to look this up but it seems that more Wall St money is going to the dems.
So, open up your eyes and mind and cut out the old class envy cra*. - Reply to this comment
- afmca-Scare tactics there, sweetie?????
You have your thoughts and beliefs and others have the right to have their thoughts and beliefs. As for far, far, far rights, honey, I''m for a woman''s right to choose but I am not for partial birth abortion and allowing a child who some how has the AUDACITY to survive the saline and having his brains punctured being thrown in a trash can. Now, that''s real progressive.
Who the h*&l said she would be able to overturn your right to abortion. Get a grip lefty, for GOD''s sake. - Reply to this comment
- sean5002-and he has visited ALL 57 states!
linymo-are you referring to the Public Allies program that he and his lovely PO''d wife started in Chicago?? Do you mean the one that gets federal money? The one that could be called an indoctrination program? Bet they wear brown shirts and I think I would be one of their targets. Isn''t this just great how all these people are being led like sheep? - Reply to this comment
- We''ve learned more about her than we had with the messiah at this point in his campaign. This is a guy who leaves out key areas of his life such as his time in Hawaii and Indonesia. At this same time period in his great outcomig we had not heard about ayers, wright, rezko and many other points. We did not know about his wife and her time at the University of Chicago Medical Center and her program, with the help of axelrod to stear the uninsured from the hospital''s ER. We had not heard of the Wood Foundation where the messiah served on the board with ayers. We knew little about him and you think we still don''t know Palin.
Keep taking up the yingyang media, you''re doing a good job. - Reply to this comment

- I saw on one of the news flashes that Governor Palin attended 6 different schools in 6 years to get her degree. What is behind so many changes? Why have we not heard more about that media?

Have you ever heard of aerial hunting? It''s a brutal practice. Wolves are shot from low-flying aircraft or chased to exhaustion, then killed at point-blank range.
Governor Sarah Palin, the Republican nominee for Vice President, promotes this barbaric practice, exploiting a loophole in the Federal Airborne Hunting Act to allow private wolf killers to shoot down wolves using aircraft. We have to get the word out about this!

- before anyone pulls the lever for Palin I would like to know her definitive stand on these questions:
1. Do you support a woman''s right to birth control?
2. Do you support a woman''s right to the morning after pill?
3. Do you support comprehensive *** education or just abstinence training?
4. What scientific facts support your beliefs concerning a woman''s reproductive rights?
I think her answers could show how far-far-far right so is. - Reply to this comment
- It astonishes me how the conservatives laud Sarah Palin for her her "choice" to give birth to an infant with Down''s syndrome and her daughter''s "choice" to continue an unplanned pregnancy, while arguing that women do NOT HAVE a choice in these circumstances.
What is so laudatory about having unprotected intercourse at age 17 or taking up a high stress job when you have an infant at home, a pregnant teen and other young children to care for? I am sick of the hypocrisy of the far right. - Reply to this comment

- Eight years of going only downhill, and we are willing to accept more of the same? What can anyone who is capable of thinking be thinking, if they allow the McSames to bring us down to our knees for another four years? Furthermore, with the presidency just a heartbeat away, can we afford to place all our lives, the hopes of several generations and the well-being of our country, in to the hands of a woman who has NO experience whatsoever in national and world affairs?? Might as well entrust our lives to Rover, the dog, who in fact, might do a better job! Ask yourselves: Are you better off now? If you allow McSames another four years, you may not be around then to be able to ask yourself this question. Consequences? It will be too late then for we may not survive these years. If we love this country, our families and friends, we cannot allow more of the same from the McSames!
