Let''s get truly enlightened and for once place as much pressure on this issue with the boys. Girls don''t get pregnant by themselves. Any program must include the genders equally since it is a shared responsibility. Parents are too lax and dismissive and their very actions condone their kids doing these types of things. Kids want direction but the parents aren''t giving it to them, deferring instead to overly indulging them and thereby substituting these actions for properly upbringing. That teen pregnancy will continue is a fact of life, but it needn''t be totally placed at the feet of the teen girl. Prevention of unwanted pregnancies is just as much the responsibility of the boy and even more so, since without his interaction, one wouldn''t occur.

The Federal Government under republican leadership raise the legal age of consent to 18. Therfore any male can be charged with statutory rape, its the law.
Now the Govenor of Alaska will not inforce this federal law, therfore any person arrested and charged with same crime should be set free since now the federal govenment has decided only cetain people should be charge with this crime. Sorry the law applies to no one or all there is no halfway point. I guess Minnasota will not inforce it either, when the boyfriend of a underage girl come to the state. Why would McCain want to threaten a teen mother''s benefits? These girl''s need help, it is not a good time to say, " either go to school or lose your benefits," as if that''s an option for all these girls. It''s not. And so for those girl''s who find it impossible to raise a child and go to school, what are they suppose to do? starve? No, we must make sure that they have enough to eat and that their babies don''t suffer. Give them help and don''t threaten to take it away.

God help us if McCain/Palin win the election. I believe McCain is another rich oil man just like Bush, just as out of touch with reality. And as for Palin, I have no criticism of her child born with DS as I''ve seen some posters do, as the child had no control over how he was born, and I believe children with DS have just as much right to be born into this or any other society and be loved and supported by a loving family. They should not just be thrown away like a piece of trash in an abortion because they are not "normal". However, I''m very concerned about the inexperience of this woman in the political arena.
