After more than a decade, the new, updated version of the CW's "90210" premieres tonight at 8 p.m. with a close to perfect-looking cast and more sex, secrets and drama.
Early Show national correspondent Hattie Kaufmann visited the set of the famous zip code and chatted with original cast member and former "Dancing with the Stars" contestant Jennie Garth.
Garth, who was once obsessed over in the '90s as the spoiled, superficial Kelly Taylor, has turned a new leaf to become a wiser and more grounded guidance counselor.
The original "90210" was a groundbreaking teen soap opera filled with plenty of sex, drama and back stabbing as well.
"Kelly was tormented so badly," Garth told Kaufmann. "She was raped, stalked, shot at, and addicted. She was in a cult. Oh, wait, she got burned."
Garth will also be joined by fellow co-star and former rival Shannon Doherty, whose off-screen antics got as much attention as her "90210" exploits.
"We're different people now. She's a grown woman, I'm a grown woman. So there's no drama. The wild days are behind her, maybe," Garth said.
If the originals pushed the prime time envelope, the new series tears it open, Kaufmann explained.
Shenae Grimes plays Annie Wilson, (whose modeled after Brenda Walsh) a Kansas teenager who moves to Beverly Hills and tries to keep her Midwest values in the midst of excess.
"There's a whole lot more cattiness going on in Hollywood than back home," Grimes said.
Like the show's other young stars, Grimes is a fan of the original and remembers watching it with her mom.
Grimes and her mother have had a lot of nostalgic moments realizing that she is working alongside the infamous Kelly Taylor.
"I think I just got an e-mail from my mom freaking out because she saw the picture of us on the red carpet together at the launch party, and she was like, 'Oh, my god, Shenae, you're doing our show,'" Grimes added.
Garth was 15 when the cameras first rolled, but now she's a mother of three. Like other moms, Garth is concerned about what might appear on screen.
"I definitely stick by my morals and say, watch it first and make the decision as a parent whether you want your young kids watching."
When asked if she would allow her 11-year-old to watch the show, Garth replied "hell no!"
