Republican Convention Schedule
The Republican Party has changed the schedule for their convention St. Paul, Minnesota, due to Hurricane Gustav. Monday’s program was shortened to just official business without any of the scheduled speeches. The Republican Party has announced that the convention will resume on Tuesday night, but the schedule will be modified. We will update this page when the information is released.


Monday
Due to Hurricane Gustav, the RNC suspended most of the activities planned for the first day of the convention. Only official business was conducted, such as adoption of the party platform and election of party officers. None of the scheduled political speeches took place.

At the end of the session, Laura Bush and Cindy McCain addressed the convention to talk about Hurricane relief.


Tuesday
After trimming it's opening day schedule due to Hurricane Gustav, the GOP hopes to get back to business Tuesday. Previous speaking lineups are being reworked, but CBS News has confirmed the following:

The revamped lineup is highlighted by scheduled speeches between 10 - 11 ET from former Tennessee Senator and presidential candidate Fred Thompson and Sen. Joe Lieberman, I-Conn..

Also, President Bush will address the convention via satellite at about 9:30 p.m. ET.

Other Speakers: First Lady Laura Bush; House Republican Leader John Boehner (Ohio); Sen. Norm Coleman (Minn.); Rep. Michele Bachmann (Minn.); Robert M. "Mike" Duncan, Chairman of the Republican National Committee; Jo Ann Davidson, Co-Chairman of the Republican National Committee


Wednesday
Featured Speakers: Rudy Giuliani, VP Nominee Gov. Sarah Palin
