(AP)  An Illinois man who police say held five people hostage in a motel in Fort Madison, Iowa, was arrested after he sent two of his hostages on a beer run.

Police say 33-year-old Jason Slagel of Moline is charged with five counts of false imprisonment and going armed with intent. They say Slagel pulled a knife during an argument Tuesday night with another man and told the people in the room that they wouldn't be allowed to leave.

One man was cut and Slagel had a cut on his hand, but police say the injuries weren't serious.

Police say Slagel eventually got thirsty and sent two hostages out for beer.

After they left, they called police and Slagel was arrested without incident.

You would have never heard this story if his father had been head of the CIA or a rich Republican. He may have actually been taken home by the cops and made our next President. Worse things happen in Capitalistville America where the prevailing doctrine is greed, greed, and more greed. Let the poor and the minority rot in our for-profit prisons where inmates earn $2 an hour or die in the streets before the age of 20 selling drugs provided them by white smugglers who pump oil on the side.
That glistening sheen America lost over the past eight years was really Vaseline and Bush only exposed our nations rotten underbelly by taking it mainstream. Heil das Dollar!
