Police found Ebony Garcia, 21, lying in a pool of blood at about 2:10 a.m Saturday. She was stabbed about a dozen times and died two hours later at a local hospital.
Witnesses say neighbors ignored the woman's screams for more than 30 minutes before someone called the police. One neighbor said she ignored the cries because she thought the victim had been drinking.
"She was screaming, 'Help, help, he stabbed me on the neck, I'm bleeding from the neck," the neighbor told the New York Daily News.
A police source told the newspaper that Garcia had been out drinking at a local bar when she ran into her ex-boyfriend, Segundo Penafiel, 25, against whom she had obtained a restraining order.
"She was in a bad situation. She was a young girl, a good girl," the victim's cousin told the Daily News.
Garcia was the mother of a 2-year-old daughter, the newspaper reports.

Oh, bite me! They ignored her screams because they have become used to hearing drunks and druggies disturbing the peace almost 24/7. Quit trying to blame white people for all the "bad things" that happen to non-whites. Get over yourself!
Just like a true do-gooder. Is that what you learn in church? I wonder which "god" you worship? Blame the victim.

Another totally Ignorant Post by Gop_forever
You never fail to post rediculas garbage. We have to say you are consistent.
People, we need to watch out for each other...there''s no one else doing it (including the police), so we need to take action and take care of ourselves and our neighbors. America''s moral compass needs a serious check.
I agree with you, but how do you define "take action and take care of?" I personally believe that ARMED citizens who are willing to USE their guns are being forced to take the place of police who never seem to be able to get to a crime scene until LONG after the crime has been committed. What good are the police after the perpetrator has been gone for 15 minutes?
Peace

What an ignorant S*O*B. Puritan, bible thumper hypocrate - You are the reason why abortion should be legalized, to keep your kind from breeding and roam the planet spreading your idiocy. Only you know what you hide inside that closet that makes you seek refuge in religion and use it as an artificial shelter to avoid the pain of your own reality. If you are not good enough to extend a helping hand to another human being, without regard to external appearances, then you must really look at your existance in the mirror and consider other options.

The CORRECT god? Define correct for us. And CORRECT according to whom? YOU? You are a raving lunatic!
I agree with you completely up to a point. The problem is that we don''t know what kind of adult a baby is going to grow into. I propose that we legalize the euthanasia of all people who post the kind of tripe that idiots like gop_forever post.
Peace
While New York city is supposed to have improved a lot from the ''60s and ''70s, it has apparently forgotten Kitty Genovese. Too sad for New York.
Oh man are you hooking fish today! The rubes are really biting! Fish On!!!

Wait a minute. Berniepeders was expressing his opinion, which he has every right to do. Atheists are not a "group" and they are not "demanding" anything.
Every person -- atheist, believer, or agnostic -- should be left alone to practice their religion (or not practice any religion) as they see fit. Such is the freedom guaranteed by the US Constitution.
The problem is a "witness" means that they were there too. so why didn''t the "witnesses" call the police? There is something not right here--and we can start with the entire group--witnesses, neighbors and hearsay. As for the man--hope he gets the death penalty if they have that in that State.
Never say something does not exist, simply due to lack of proof. No one has ever seen a black hole, gone to the sun or been in the 4th dimension--but Science say these things exist or say how hot the sun is and how many miles away it is--even though there is NO Proof because no one has been there or measured the temperature. Scientists call their nonproof--theories or hypothesis and if they base it on equations or projections it is still not proven. There are a lot of nonproven things in the universe and yet we often claim the info as fact. There is no proof that the world was created in a big bang either--. Just because you personally do not know something does not mean it does not exist. Before the advent of MRI''s and other equipment--asthma was thought to be a psychological disease and know one knew what caused mad cow disease. Now we know that asthma is a severe immunological reaction within the bronchioles and that mad cow appears to be caused by prions--which are smaller than viruses. The point is--before the machines existed--many dismissed the diseases--because there was no proof. It did not mean the diseases did not exist or kill--it meant science was at a disadvantage. Perhaps someday science will prove or disprove God--but until that day--no proof means either we are right--or we lack the tools to confirm--either way--it is unknown.
All day, all night, all week, all month, all year, year after year, they keep hearing how women are B-s and ho-s, and B-s and ho-s, and B-s and ho-s, and B-s and ho-s, and B-s and ho-s . . .
Not the kind of person you would care about, even if she were screaming for her life!!!

Speak for yourself. Most people are not defined or brainwashed by rap music, rock or anything else. A human is a human and pain is pain. Someone should have called for help. Before rap, there were murders with neighbors ignoring it also. The real deal is that if there was a person witnessing the neighbors ignoring the screams--then that person needs to explain why THEY did not react to the screams--since they too, were there.

The issue is not "proof", but EVIDENCE. We have evidence the Sun exists because we SEE it and we feel its heat. We don''t have to go there to know it exists, nor to measure its distance from Earth or its temperature. Science has developed methods to measure the distance and temperature remotely.
We know black holes exist because we see their effects on surrounding matter. We don''t have to "see" black holes with our eyes or telescopes to have evidence they exist.
Your knowledge of science and how it operates as a methodology for obtaining knowledge about the Universe is sorely lacking. Please try to educate yourself about science!
Meanwhile, those who claim God exists have the responsibility to provide EVIDENCE of the truth of their claims. If evidence is lacking, you should withhold belief. Believing in something for which there is NO EVIDENCE is NOT a virtue!
By the way,the posts from the libs on bob novak, who has the same type of tumor as kennedy were more vile than anything posted by a conservative.

And religion or none, people should be more respectful of others. Agnostics hate it when the religious say they will send "prayers" their way when they are ill. Gee, is it out of religion or genuine care, regardless of that person''s beliefs?
Agnostics have to drop the chip from their shoulder and remove that stick while they''re at it.
So should the uber-religious.
Or why I should care; people are going to be nasty anyway so I''m going to align with whomever I choose.
For all of the decent conservative Republicans and Democrats out there who really do stand up for family and moral values...it''''''''s a shame that people like those below, who claim to stand with you, would make such remarks about a human being who is dying from brain cancer....

Let''s leave it up to Mary Jo, then. Oh..I forgot..she''s at the bottom of the river.
Typical of New Yorkers. 10 % of them are good, the rest are money grabbing, rotten apples with obnoxious accents.
If 911 would have happened elsewhere, the New York people (not from Upstate, of course) would not have given a *** nor rallied to help.
Of course he was out the next day, and my guests, visiting from Holland, cut short their stay, afeaid that the criminal was loose, and knew the faces of those who called the cops on him.
It is not inconceivable that those who did not call were concerned that the police often bring more problems than they solve.
Anyone on here old enough to recall Kitty Genovese?
Posted by Nancy_Naive at 12:53 PM
Who that is?
Posted by Nancy_Naive at 12:53 PM
For those who don''t know Kitty Genovese was a 28 year old woman stabbed to death in Kew Gardens queens. It was a famous case because newspapers at the time (1964) reported there were 38 witnesses who saw the crime from their windows and heard her scream for help, but nobody called police until she was already dead. Actually, it came out later that was mostly inaccurate. While she was first approached by the killer in view of the apartment windows, where she was stabbed was out of sight of most of them. There''s in an interesting article about the case here:

This is not about politics you idiot it is about someone being murdered.
