(AP)  There was much dancing: Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are married, according to reports.

In the biggest celebrity union since California legalized same-sex marriage, DeGeneres, 50, and de Rossi, 35, wed Saturday night in an intimate ceremony at their Beverly Hills home, People and Us Magazine reported.

A publicist for DeGeneres confirmed People's report and gave no
further comment.

After the California Supreme Court's ruling in May, the talk-show host announced that she and de Rossi would wed after four years together.

The ceremony was attended by 19 guests, including DeGeneres's mom Betty and de Rossi's mother Margaret Rogers, who flew in from Australia for the occasion, People.com reported Saturday night.

DeGeneres said after winning her fourth consecutive Daytime Emmy for talk show host in June that a date had not been set, and that she would show "a tiny bit" of the nuptials on her show.

While opponents in California have gathered signatures to put a measure on the November ballot for a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage, Hollywood was throwing it support behind the newlyweds.

"One of my favorite people of all time is Ms. Ellen DeGeneres," Katherine Heigel told AP Television at a Hollywood charity event on Saturday night. "So I wish all the best, all the happiness, all the joy that comes with that certificate ... just the joy of being able to stand up and say that. In front of everyone you love and care about in front of each other and to walk away legal is huge."

Tila Tequila, whose dating reality show fame is built somewhat upon her affinity for both men and women, passed along her good wishes - with only one small complaint.

"I love Ellen (DeGeneres) I watch her show all the time," Tequila told AP Television. "I just want to say congratulations and I am really sorry you didn't invite me to your wedding."

LOL! Once again I am amazed at the narrow-minded, fear-induced beliefs about god and sin exhibited here. I''m with Bill Maher...we Americans, and in fact, humans, are incredibly stupid and unaware.
If all you wish to do is condemn, criticize, and care-not, too bad for you, ''cause that''d be the sin...

READ AGAIN WHAT I SAID. "SIN". MURDER IS SIN, LYING IS SIN, STEALING IS SIN, HOMOSEXUALITY IS SIN, ETC., ETC., ETC. IN GODS EYES SIN IS SIN, PERIOD. NO LITTLE SIN OR BIG SIN. DON`T GET MAD AT GOD. UNDERSTAND THE HIS WAYS ARE FAR ABOVE OURS AND IN HIM, UNLIKE US, THERE IS NO SIN.

IF 2 MEN ROB A STORE, ONE SITS IN THE CAR WHILE THE OTHER GETS OUT AND KILLS A COP WHEN THEY GET PULLED OVER. THEY BOTH GET CHARGHED WITH MURDER. THE GUY IN THE CAR WAS CONSENTING TO THE CRIME.
IF YOU CONDONE OTHERS SIN YOU ARE JUST AS GUILITY OF IT.

WHAT IS SIN? ANYTHING THAT IS THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT GOD SAYS IS RIGHT. WHERE DO YOU FIND OUT WHAT GOD SAYS IS RIGHT OR WRONG? THE BIBLE.
WE ALL HAVE A SINFUL NATURE. HOMOSEXUALITY IS JUST ONE OF MANY THINGS THAT ARE SIN. SEXUAL PERVERSION, OF ANY KIND, DOESN`T GIVE ANYONE "RIGHTS". THAT PHONY MARRIAGE WILL NEVER BE BLESSED BY GOD.
THE END RESULT OF SPENDING YOUR LIVE SHAKING YOUR FIST AT GOD WILL BE HELL. A PERSON WOULD BE BETTER OFF NEVER TO HAVE BEEN BORN THEN TO WIND UP IN HELL WHEN THEY DIE.
JESUS WILL FORGIVE YOU OF YOUR SINS AND SAVE YOUR SOUL FROM HELL IF YOU REPENT AND IN YOUR HEART TRUST HIM AS YOUR SAVIOUR. THE BIBLE IS TRUE AND JESUS REALLY DOES LOVE US IN SPITE OF OUR SINS BUT HE WON`T MAKE YOU GET SAVED.
LIFE HAS MANY CHOICES, DEATH HAS BUT 2, HEAVEN OR HELL, WHICH WILL IT BE FOR YOU? YOUR CHOICE.

OK, here''s a few myths of the Bible, ready?

1. God made the heavens and the Earth
2. God made male and female
3. God made animals, fish, birds, and creeping things
4. God made the oceans and the mountains
5. God made mankind with a free choice

Please don''t take any of those literal

Everyone''s entitled to their own beliefs. But, remember, that includes these two blessed people as well. Were not all people blessed by God upon their creation?

Do you intend to turn to God some day and say "I obeyed the Bible. Now you HAVE to take me in!" Or "that person didn''t obey the bible. Now you HAVE to cast them away!" Do you intend to order God to adhere to your assumed "covenant"? You can''t own God, and neither does God desire to own you.

You can write bibles and other "holy scriptures" untill the day you pass from this world, but, try as you may, you can never own God. You cannot invent God with a work of fiction, or by writing your beliefs and desires in a book and calling it "holy".

Go now, and believe as you wish. But leave these two people alone.
