Ellen DeGeneres
A funny lady with a full plate.
In the biggest celebrity union since California legalized same-sex marriage, DeGeneres, 50, and de Rossi, 35, wed Saturday night in an intimate ceremony at their Beverly Hills home, People and Us Magazine reported.
A publicist for DeGeneres confirmed People's report and gave no
further comment.
After the California Supreme Court's ruling in May, the talk-show host announced that she and de Rossi would wed after four years together.
The ceremony was attended by 19 guests, including DeGeneres's mom Betty and de Rossi's mother Margaret Rogers, who flew in from Australia for the occasion, People.com reported Saturday night.
DeGeneres said after winning her fourth consecutive Daytime Emmy for talk show host in June that a date had not been set, and that she would show "a tiny bit" of the nuptials on her show.
While opponents in California have gathered signatures to put a measure on the November ballot for a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage, Hollywood was throwing it support behind the newlyweds.
"One of my favorite people of all time is Ms. Ellen DeGeneres," Katherine Heigel told AP Television at a Hollywood charity event on Saturday night. "So I wish all the best, all the happiness, all the joy that comes with that certificate ... just the joy of being able to stand up and say that. In front of everyone you love and care about in front of each other and to walk away legal is huge."
Tila Tequila, whose dating reality show fame is built somewhat upon her affinity for both men and women, passed along her good wishes - with only one small complaint.
"I love Ellen (DeGeneres) I watch her show all the time," Tequila told AP Television. "I just want to say congratulations and I am really sorry you didn't invite me to your wedding."

I''m so happy for Ellen and Portia . . . congrats!

Because marrying animals, marrying your brother and incest are all illegal. Being gay is not.
Once again, a bigot is not able to explain why gay people getting married is bad. They can only come up with illegal things in arguing against it. And no, because it bothers you is not a valid reason to prevent gay people from getting married. Its none of our business what they do.
Sorry that so many people get their panties in a twist over something that''s really none of their business.

Hopefully, as time goes by, decent people wil see how revolting bigots are. A bigot, describing trhemselves as "decent". Sad.

So is bigotry and not minding your own business.
personally I don''t care unless they try to have and or raise children then I draw the line
wonder what percentage of her (DeGeneres)
fans are homosexuals
as for me I have never & will never watch her show
Reread the post from MyOpinion1. Queers disgust everyone and the pretense that it''s okay by our pandering, and often queer politicians, is abhorrent.
The in-your-face activism of queers will ultimately be their demise as this revolting lifestyle generates a vigorous rebirth of anti-homosexual societal feelings.
How much more are normal human beings supposed to take without civil unrest and massive political upheaval. Marriage between queers goes against everything decent and natural. Disgusting beyond words.

Common decency I think doesn''t include being rude to people that you don''t know about something that doesn''t concern you. I bet you a lot of money that they don''t really care about what you do with YOUR significant other!!

I think this was the same argument used against women being given equal rights with men and minorities (especially blacks) gaining rights at all. Too bad that we allow blacks and whites to marry. You know, stuff like that is just unnatural and goes against the natural order of things. The whole world will come to an end because of it... social order will break down and it will mean the end of civilization as we know it.
Oops... I guess it really didn''t!!! GET OVER YOUR OWN PROBLEMS AND DON''T FOIST THEM OTHERS!!!
Ellen is such a dude!
Anyways why is this even news!? Who the hell cares what an old bull *** and her lover do?
Did someone say this earlier? I wish the queers would honor this statement and keep their lifestyle off the streets during their pride marches and out of the media. I don''t want to hear about it and I certainly don''t want kids to hear about it. There''s enough confusion in this world.
Face it, queers come from abusive and/or neglected backgrounds time and time again. This is a developed behavior that can be reversed with therapy. It is not normal and does not belong in a decent, civilized society.

Especially when it''s usually the homos who say it''s nobody''s business. (Eh, then why do they ''come out'', have grotesque parades and being "proud", et cetera?)

Homosexuals do not always come from abuse or neglect. Are you saying that *** Cheney was abusive or neglected his children? This is not a developed behavior, it is something that exists within a person as part of them. Do you really think that someone would CHOOSE to undergo the insults and hatred from people like you?!?!? Have you ever actually sat down and talked with a gay person? I doubt it. I think that intolerance and hatred don''t belong in civilized society.
Your heart is deceived! Your heart is wicked! You are being lied to. If you dare think that, don''t you ever dare complain about child rapists because the heart that thinks that is evil, wicked, sinful and selfish. Roman Chapter 1
I don''t care how smart our scientists are. The evil heart will ALWAYS find a way to make other people believe what they want to believe. There is no gene for this it all. That''s the dumbest thing I have ever heard. Our human hearts (mine included) are inclined to sin, inclined to do evil, and especially if it feels good. No one said sin is not fun, it is a blast! We will all one day be accountable to the Lord Jesus our God who made us with a complete free will to do whatever. God will only love us until we have decided that He is not worth our time, even on our death bed. He will not always strive with us. There comes a point in time when God will stop speaking because one can''t hear His love anymore. He waits a long time for one to turn to Him, even in the midst of our worst sins.

Wow... you really have to feel sorry for a person like this. For someone to be so filled with hate, so bitter, so nasty, has got to be a tremendous burden. I hope you find some way out of the black hole you''re in zgomer... some day.
There is thing called faith that God gave everybody in the world. Have gave it to us so we can believe in Him. People do not turn to Him because they love their sin. I agree, I am not he brightest ball of string, but this I do know for sure, if you hate God (not the hypocrite Christians, hypocrisy is a world problem, not a church problem), God will love you all the way to your death bed, He will move heaven and earth to get you to know Him, He will send irritaing Christians that so many people like you hate, to tell you that you have been created and He has given you a free will to love Him or hate Him, don''t argue with me, I did not write the book so many accuse that so many have not read.
They forget (or wish to obscure) that being g.ay isn''t about s.ex. It isn''t about labels or religion or politics or laws. It''s about who you are capable of loving, body and soul, and being loved by in return. It defines a culture that has existed as long as mankind itself has existed.
Some people really hate g.ay and lesbian people. I can''t say for sure why. Is it because we''re not 100% like them? Is it because we may not share their religion? Is it because they don''t personally share the same feelings? I don''t know. But it is because of that hatred, exemplified in posts here, a g.ay man or woman might get shot, robbed, beaten or staked out on a fence in Wyoming and left to die. That''s what it means to hate.
Most g.ay and lesbian people have the courage to stand up to that hate, and we do. Some give into it, and begin to hate themselves. All I know is that I know who I love, and why, and there isn''t enough hatred, bigotry, rhetoric or ignorance in all the world to change that.
As time passes, civil rights are being recognized for g.ay and lesbian people, and many of the old bigotries tend to fade. But there will always be a few, like some zealots who post here, that will seek to destroy instead of understand.
Who knows what went on in the Cheney household LOL. I certainly wouldn''t be surprised if I heard he was a cold and distant father who wasn''t around very much. Just look at his personality. I don''t know what his wife is like. She always seems to remain silent in the backkground. Yes, as an example I''m going to say this family is more than likely apt to produce a **** offspring.
I have absolutley no hate towards you or towards anyone in the gay community. But since you brought it up, yes, I agree, the Bible has so much violence and some much sin listed in it that it is amazing. That lets you know that God is all knowing. He knows our nature. Nothing is not seen by Him. Please though, list me two contadictions in the Bible since you say it is full of them.

And I''m glad I didn''t have to see the video of Ted Haggard testifying, "Get Thee Behind Me and Shove It In Gently!" with his samesex meth dealer and lover.....

Sorry, this isn''t your own personal proselytization thread. This isn''t your "come to my Jesus" moment.
This article has nothing to do with you, your belief, your religion, or your hate. In short it has nothing to do with YOU at all.
Leave other people alone, for crying out loud.
Congrats to Ellen and spouse! You go girls!

Jesus forgave sinners, BUT told them, "go, and sin no more".......Not, go and do whatever you like.
You are absolutely correct. Jesus opened His arms to everyone, everyone. The problem is this. Christians can sometimes think they are better than some people, and it comes across this way alot. But when someone finally does give their heart to the one and true Jesus, something happens. A heart is transformed from darkness to light and they have picked a side. There is a real change if the God of the universe comes and lives in someones heart, it really stirs things up, and it can make a lot of people mad. It has to do with knowing that someone has made that step of faith, knowing that they have broken Gods law, and need to have God forgive them and take the payment Jesus paid for them. I apologize for so many Christians that point the finger and do not look internally first. I''m guilty of that. Once someone really has taken that step of faith, a change really happens. Before one gives the heart to God, they are at war with God. After they take the step of faith and ask Jesus in their heart, they become at war with the world, but God is now on their side. Being at war with God is harder than hearing how much people hate the Christians on this little web page. There is so much more peace.

Talk about hate.......looks like this is an example of the extreme hatred coming from liberals on this site. How can you blindly accuse Christians of being hateful?

Oh well said. Who are you, my conscience? 8-)

couldn''t be your conscience, you don''t have one.

I''ll list you the most important glaring one.
Every Gospel mentions the fact the mary Magdeline was the first one, or with the first ones, to see Jesus at the Resurrection. The single most important event in the Religion of Christianity.
However, THE Authority of Christianity, the Apostle Paul, is clear when he says Cephas (Peter) is the one the sees Jesus first.
Christians can''t even get their own mythology right....
wrong again. dip-head

NOT FOR LONG!
You are correct in the statement about Mary. However, you need to reference when Paul claims Peter to be the first and in its correct context. Sorry for the delay, had to eat dinner.
