He''s changing how I feel about being patriotic. It''s been too long. I feel a renewed hope and sense of optimism. Having a man like that, with his integrity as our leader makes me feel proud again. I can look at our flag without feeling like cringing. Obama has inspired us all, and I believe our hearts are changing. Change is good. I wish I was there. This is truly historic. And inspirational.

It''s not about you ''jrica'', its about a much bigger picture, you are only a tiny flaw in this diamond of America. Its about what his country is about, where we have been, and where we are going. You probably would not have like Dr. King either, but since you are probably human, perhaps your conscience will be evoked one day to live in the spirit of unity that this country so desperately needs..

Ive been watching other channels coverage of the DNC-lots more dimension and facets of the American diamond are represented-young folks, urban folks, even kids are excited about the fire of change thats sweeping our country. Not only does a Black man have the opportunity to become president, so does a woman, so does a Hispanic-American, the audicity to hope is not just a phrase, it is a lifestyle. So it is appropriate, it is welcomed, that on the anniversary of our beloved Dr.King''s "I Have A Dream" speech, that our newly discovered facet of America, Barack Obama, accept the mantle of leadership- the Democratic nominee for President of the United States of America.

My question is for Katie Couric. Why did you not stand up during the passing of the colors? Is this not a political event determining the future of our country? Shouldn''t you, also, show your respect for your country? Looking behind you while the colors passed, everyone else was standing PROUD! There are soldiers fighting for that flag! There have been thousands of soldiers AND civilians who have died for that flag. You could at least try and find it in yourself you rise to your feet, as most Americans would, while the flag of the country that give you the freedom of speech to be able to do your job, passes by you.

I watched the convention this week on C-Span. It has been a great experience to see and hear for myself without the media filtering and spinning. You also get to hear all the speakers in full. I highly reccomend it.

Last night was electric. It was so great to hear Bill Clinton give such a ringing endorsement of Barack Obama. After he spoke I immediately went online and made a donation to Sen. Clinton to help with her debt .

John Kerry%u2019s speech was really tough and inspiring. And I loved learning more about Joe Biden. His speech was that much more moving knowing about his struggles and strong family commitment. His down to earth speaking style is a perfect counterpoint to Obama%u2019s articulate elegance. What a great team - just what this country needs to get us back on track!

Tonight I will be watching the convention simulcast at a 1,600 seat theater in my home city with friends and neighbors. My 11 year-old keeps asking, %u201Cis this speech historic?%u201D every time someone starts talking! In my opinion, this whole convention is historic, exciting, energizing and, yes, HOPEFUL!
