Push To Name Sewage Plant After Bush

San Francisco Voters To Decide Whether To Name Local Sewage Plant For President

  • Interactive Bush Presidency

The president's agenda, plus facts, figures, major events and key personalities.

(AP)  A measure seeking to commemorate President Bush's years in office by slapping his name on a San Francisco sewage plant has qualified for the November ballot.

The measure certified Thursday would rename the Oceanside Water Pollution Control Plant the George W. Bush Sewage Plant.

Supporters say the idea is to commemorate the mess they claim Bush has left behind by actions such as the war in Iraq.

Local Republicans say the plan stinks and they will oppose it.

I wonder how many sewage plants are going to be named after San Fransisco.
I''m going to start a petition to name our landfill after Nancy Pelosi.

Liberals are such wimps and whiners.

After all the things the GOPigs have named after Ronnie Raygun, I figure this is the least liberals could do.

Why does SF bother to let the people vote.

Just do it!

It will be another perfect example of liberal ignorance.

Is it beneath you to contribute to the civility of our system and pay taxes like the folks evading taxes who have their money with Swiss bank UBS, the bank PHIL GRAHAM is a chairman of? Or are you one of those profoundly ignorant republicans who don''t have a dime but just can''t get over your loyalty to the elite who serve themselves?

I was in Frisco a few years ago and what I remember best was the wonderful climate. Cool weather in the summer. The climate was so good that many of the citizens slept on the street. I thought one citizen was dead, but he arose when a cop kicked him. Another memory was going up a street so steep that I couldn''t see past the hood of my car at a stop sign. Luckily for the doped up homosexual walking back and forth in the crosswalk, I just barely could see the top of his head with the scabs. I avoided running over him but I''m sure he didn''t live long anyway.

Now why would San Francisco hurl such a grave insult at a perfectly good sewage treatment plant, of the substance it processes?

At least the treatment facilities, and the sewage do some good for humanity.

After the GOP named a federal building in Washington DC after Ronnie, (ironically, the largest fed. building) the Dems came to power and struck back by housing the EPA there.
With this sewage plant, if the GOP ever gained leverage in SF, (you say unlikely? what if they bought the plant?) they could strike back by re-assigning the building''s use-- It could be their party headquarters.

You Liberals need to direct your hate to the Muslim Extremists who are trying to kill us.

You dangerous and fearful leader, Barack Hussein Obama is one of them and will continue to sympathize with all terrorists.

Remember, the Muslim Extremists said they would attack us from within and Barack Hussein Obama is all the proof we need.

Direct you anger where it is warranted and stop fighting against Americans, no matter how bad you think they are.

George Bush has not been the best president, by a long shot but he has done his best to keep us safe at home.

Safety will be (and is) the furtherest issue from Barack Hussein Obamas mind.

He will take your life savings followed by your life.

McCain 2008

is this anything like the hatred against clinton during the ''90s ... and the fact that the right wing''s incessent attempts to destroy him, his family, and his presidency actually distracted the focus of the government from the important issues of the day ... like osama and al qaeda, like the embassy bombings, like the cole bombing.

so ... in other words ... liberals should ''not'' do what the republicans did in the ''90s.

are you saying you''re sorry for being so selfish, self centered, and destructive with your myopic and dangerous idealogy?

"Frisco" is a virtual sewer withing itself. The ignorance shown by their hate is amazing to say the least.

They spit on soldiers returning home from war, they mock those who try to lead moral lives and they assasinate the character of anyone who tries to lead us from danger.

"Frisco" is a breeding ground for Left Wing Liberal Tree Huggers who will never be pursuaded to believe the truth about anything.

Barack Hussein Obama is a danger to our country and he is the last thing we need right now in the midst of a war.

NO MUSLIM WILL EVER TAKE THE WHITE HOUSE!!

Please vote Republican this year, even if you never do so again. Our very lives depend on it!!

Stop with the hate!

Nolle61 stop with the hate who are you kidding the GOP is the kings of spreading hate they would rather find away to stop you from voting then get you to vote and your asking for votes and as far as a muslim it has been proven over and over Obama is NOT a muslim . You should have been there asking for America no to vote in MORONS when BUsh was running and maybe people wouldn''t want to name sewer palnts after the president of the United States . It wasn''t hate when they did what they did to Clinton either was it I don''t know but for my money I''ll take a morally shall we say challenged president then a mentally challenged one any day of the week and Obama is neither of those but Bush certainly is and McCain why do you think Vietnam wants McCain to win ? Esp. his "jailer"

One can certainly appreciate the humor in the gesture. However, this sewage plant is actually pretty much state-of-the-art in terms of dealing with waste. Unlike the Shrub, it is actually a decently designed and run unit. Better to have named a landfill after the Shrub, not only for the garbage of his policies, but for all the secrets and plots his administration has sought to bury.

Why denigrate the good that this sewage plant and all sewage plants do? This sewage plant performs more good than Bush could ever hope to have done. So please, don''t give this sewage plant this name, for it has done and will continue to serve its citizens well. Contrast this with how the people have been served by this administration.

I say please do it! The symbolism of the toxic mess that we the people must now clean-up at tremendous expense for many, many years to come is very fitting. No presidential library for this bozo....too many illegible words in his vocabulary anyway. From this day forward, when San Fransiscans take a dump, they''ll know where it goes when they flush. It''s not a slight on the great task that these facilities accomplish. To the contrary. It is this sort of monumental accomplishment in chemistry and biology that is similar to our task in the post-Bush era to come.
