The bodies of 50-year-old Mark Schwartz and his 48-year-old wife, Christina-Maria Petrowski-Schwartz, were discovered in their Brooklyn home around noon on Wednesday.
The New York Post quoted police sources as saying both victims were shot in the temple. There were no signs of a forced entry. Investigators found no weapon but did recover shell casings. Police say there was no reported history of violence between the couple or at their home.
A police source told the New York Daily News that investigators were "paying particular attention to the couple's business associates" in the search for their killer or killers.
The newspaper said the couple's German shepherd was found tied up in the back yard.
"We're all wondering how someone got near these folks," neighbor Nancy Inzerill told the Daily News. "It must have been someone the dog knew. Every time you pass there, he jumps up at the door."
The couple lived in a single-family home in the Marine Park neighborhood, an area residents call "the suburbs in the city."

- I can't feel sorry for their kids. They made the decision to destroy families and turn women into ****** and they got what they f*cking deserved. Whoever did this is a role model for the men who are the victims of this mode of implementation of Mordecai Levy's Communist Manifesto, i.e., the massive redistribuition of wealth.
Anyone who does that kind of work should have a bullseye on their backs, or as in this case, their temples! - Reply to this comment
- Mulling it over, I''d have to agree with most of the posts: The only logical suspect is the dog. How could he have been tied up if he was always jumping up on the door? He must have tied himself up to cover up the crime. He probably knew they would provide handsomly for him after their deaths, a much better lifestyle than he had before. They were so busy working that he felt neglected. The only question: Did he pull the trigger himself, then bury the gun, or did he hire another dog to do the dirty work?

- Yes I did, Christina was my two sister''s and my parents real estate lawyer, they both were really nice people- I know that people always say things like that when people die. but they were honestly nice people- they loved their grandsons and truly cared about their clients It makes me sick to my stomach that some people can be so horrible- and make such terrible comments

- Im sorry I left one thing out- do you lawyer haters realize that when you buy a house you need a lawyer? or when you have any tax issues a lawyer helps you deal with it? I guess that the fact that your all losers and burdens on society which means that none of you own your own home- I would say that maybe you would someday need a divorce lawyers but I''m betting not one of you could find someone stupid or desperate enought to marry your sorry *sses!!!

- I''m honestly sickened by the horrible comments some of these heartless "people" have made. I knew both Christina and Mark they were wonderful, caring and helpful people. Their death is a loss not only to the people that were blessed enough to have known them but to society as a whole. Do any of you heartless idiots have Parents or Grandparents? What would you do if this happened to them? I have a sense of humor like everyone else but there is nothing funny about two loving parents being killed. Sad people with nothing better to do then make stupid comments- get out of your parents basement get a job and a life and think before you write!

- We can only hope that this catches on as a trend, and it would be really nice if it became the national pastime. We could do with a hell of a lot less lawyers.

- Moron posters, go back under your rocks. Sheesh.
It must have been someone they knew; otherwise how would they get in the house and past the dog? - Reply to this comment
- Just wait til the dog hires an attorney. ''My client refuses to name the killer or killers until such time as a sufficient settlement is reached to provide for the continued care of my client, plus Beggin'' Strips three times a week''.

- I agree with the "element of surprise" poster. And that doesn''t just apply to being asleep at home either. We''re lucky people are mostly not violent in the U.S.

- This is a classical case of how guns in the home don''t help one freaking bit if the intruder knows what he''s doing.
It''s the element of surprise, folks, the element of surprise that will never give the victim the chance to get their weapon ready for an assault.
And that''s why I consider the recent Supreme Court decision on the 2nd Amendment as irrelevant and useless in today''s world.
May these two people rest in peace. - Reply to this comment

- Maybe they were working both sides of a case and coudn''t agree so they decided to take each other out at the same time, being lawyers they wanted to find a way to pin it on their dog. Afterall he had always been loyal to both of them so why not screw him in the end also. Does this sound like a plot on MAgnum P.I. ?

My response:
1. After observing your posts, if I were a cop, I''d be interested in calling you in for an interview! You have A LOT of hostility! Maybe your bereavement is an act, your responses are based on guilt, and you''re hiding something?! C''mon, you can tell us!
2. I''ve never been able to master the skill of talking out of my butt! However, with all the people on this site who took deliberate aim at your supposed friends and insulted them, I find it interesting that you continually attack me when I tried to be conciliatory to a degree! Why exactly is that? - Reply to this comment
- A lot of the previous posters don''''t seem to realize that their insensitve posts make them look like either children or morons..............

- In Homer Simpsons home one day one of our gangs visited his house with the intentions of you know what against Marge and Bart and Sally. But in Homers Simpsons world he has the right to use his gun for protection in his home so when the gang came crashing through his front door, Homer not knowing what was on their minds pulled the trigger on his glock and walla bernard Geotz was born! Homer after it was all done went and held his family close to him and the family held him as well and wept. They knew that what Homer did was to protect the security of the family. The Simpsons were never the same but none of them were crippled with the disease of helplessness that this gang would of inflicted on them had homer not owned a gun legally and for the protection of his family!
They went on in life to make cartoons for the whole world to enjoy!
A happy ending that would of been tragic if not for the decision of the father to defend his family buy owning a gun legally and using it responsibly!
The names have been changed to protect the people whos lives have been destroyed and maimed so that people who have no compassion or empathy do not adulterate them a second time! - Reply to this comment
