"Bush," "Colin Powell" Nabbed In Bar Fight

(CBS/AP)  It appears that a wrap party turned into a rap party.

Just hours after shooting was completed on Oliver Stone's latest film, a biopic of President George W. Bush, actors Josh Brolin and Jeffrey Wright, along with crew members, were arrested during a bar fight Saturday morning, police said.

Shreveport police Sgt. Willie Lewis said Brolin, Wright and five others were arrested just after 2 a.m. at a club called the Stray Cat bar.

CBS affiliate KSLA correspondent Ben Wolf reported that, according to police, one crew member was "acting out," and that club workers twice asked the group to leave, before calling police.

Police said Brolin, Lewis and four other crew members interfered with their making an arrest.

Witness Anthony Thompson told KSLA that he saw four squad cars and several bike cops, including a canine unit, converge on the scene.

Police could not say Saturday night whether Brolin or the others had been released.

KSLA reported that the arrests come the very day that Vanity fair magazine had arrived to do a cover story on the controversial film, "W," which tells the story of the early years of George W. Bush up through his invasion of Iraq.

"W" began filming in May in Shreveport. Brolin, who plays President Bush, starred in last year's Oscar-winning "No Country for Old Men," "American Gangster," "In the Valley of Elah" and "Grindhouse."

Wright, who plays former Secretary of State Colin Powell, appeared in the James Bond films "Casino Royale" and the upcoming "Quantum of Solace," as well as "Syriana" and "Ali." He won Tony and Golden Globe Awards for the stage and TV versions of "Angels in America."

The cast also includes Elizabeth Banks as first lady Laura Bush, Ellen Burstyn and James Cromwell as the elder Bushes, and Thandie Newton as Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

Stone has said the film won't be an anti-Bush polemic but, as he told Daily Variety, "a fair, true portrait of the man. How did Bush go from being an alcoholic bum to the most powerful figure in the world?"

A call to Brolin's publicist was not immediately returned Saturday night.

"W" is Stone's third presidential film, following "Nixon" and "JFK." He also directed the Vietnam sagas "Born on the Fourth of July" and "Platoon," which won four Oscars including best picture and director.

The Academy Award-winning director only began shopping his script for financing in January, but has quickly captured the interest of investors and Hollywood. He has said he is hoping to complete editing in time to release the film prior to the November election.

"Actors And Crew On Oliver Stone Film About President Bush Arrested After Brawl In La. Club"

That''''s what I love about these left-wing Hollywood celebrities: They mock Republican conservatives, but in reality, entertainers are the lowest elements of human garbage on the face of the earth.

Oh, but I''m sure there were no conservative good ol'' boys getting arrested for drunken bar brawls over the weekend in Louisians. Yeah, right!

Nobody can punish Bush because Nancy Pelosi won''''t
put the impeachment issue on the table.

I think the fact that certain people refuse to answer the subpoenas to appear before Congress might also have a little something to do with that, don''t you think?

Actually I am not defending him at all. I am just stating the facts. If he has done something illegal then why hasn''''t he been thrown in jail? Why hasn''''t he been impeached?

If Bush was impeached then Cheney would become president. NOBODY WANTS THAT! That would be going from the frying pan to the fire.
BTW: remind me again who was president on 9/11? Oh, yeah, BUSH.

And Mr. Ainttaken - as for your pointless attempt to counter my light remark - I like movies. But yes, there are a few actors that I have decided I will not see their movies for associated reasons. Do you have anything else to say?

SnippyDip - I made a comment on the typical hypocrisy of Hollywood - a wasteland of sin and filth and you make a personal remark against me? Pipe down you OVERCAFFINATED liberal baby. Get your nose out of your boyfriends *** and wash it off. If I wanted to get into a political RANT I would do it in a different discussion - where if you tried me - I would destroy you.
