Today's Seniors Report More Satisfying Sex Lives Than Previous Generations, Swedish Study Shows

(WebMD)  Satisfying sex lives among people aged 70 and older are now more common, Swedish researchers report.

They studied four groups of men and women aged 70 and older in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Nurses or doctors interviewed one group of participants in the early 1970s, a second group in the mid-1970s, a third group in the early 1990s, and a fourth group in 2000-2001.

Participants were considered sexually active if they reported having sexual intercourse during the past year.

Men and women in the most recent survey were more likely than those in the earlier surveys to report being sexually active and to say they had a happy relationship and a positive attitude toward sex.

Why the change? That's not clear, though the researchers argue that changing societal attitudes toward sex probably aren't the only reason. Better overall health, more education, and higher incomes may also make a difference, note the researchers, who included Nils Beckman, a graduate student at Sweden's Gothenburg University.

"Most elderly people consider sexual activity and associated feelings a natural part of later life," Beckman and colleagues write in BMJ Online First.

I see a lot of online viagra sold for like 1 or 2 bucks a tablet. Are they scams? If so, how much should it cost and what''s the easiest way to get it if you don''t have a family doctor. Not sure I want to develop a dependency on it, but that''s another issue.

ED drugs should be limited to those who are as of yet are not eligible to become AARP members. There is a reason Mother Nature slowed your equipment working -- you are NOT young anymore no matter how much you want to believe otherwise. Even if you can achieve some stiffness, you probably can''t ejaculate. Youll likely end up hanging out in adult bookstores because your wife doesn''t care that you can get it up after age 60 after having had an ED drug. Consider chemical castration to remove your urges and "old troll" label.

You sound like you fell from a tree......:) I know plenty of people over 70, 80, and a few over 90 that still have ***. Granted a lot don''t or can''t have ***. But that sure don''t affect the ones that can.
