NY Mayor: Jews Must Condemn Obama Rumors

Mike Bloomberg, Possible Vice Presidential Choice, Urges Jewish Voters To Denounce False Claims Democrat Is Secretly Muslim

Key dates in the relationship between Barack Obama and the Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

(CBS/ AP)  Mayor Michael Bloomberg urged Jewish voters to denounce the whisper campaign that for months has pushed the false rumor that Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama is secretly a Muslim.

Bloomberg, mentioned as a possible vice presidential candidate for both parties, warned a Jewish group in Boca Raton, Fla., on Friday that the attempt to portray Obama as a shadowy Muslim with a hidden agenda often targets Jewish voters online and with e-mails.

The deceptive campaign against Obama, who is Christian, "threatens to undo the enormous strides that Jews and Muslims have made together in this country," the New York mayor said.

The lies are "cloaked in concern for Israel, but the real concern is about partisan politics," said Bloomberg, who is Jewish. "This is wedge politics at its worst, and we've got to reject it - loudly, clearly and unequivocally."

Bloomberg, a billionaire independent, had considered making his own run for the White House this year, but decided against it. He has said his endorsement and potential financial backing could still be up for grabs, and there has been occasional chatter about how the Democrat-turned-Republican-turned independent might make a good running mate for either Obama or Republican John McCain.

“Bloomberg has held several high-profile meetings and events with Obama throughout this campaign,” said CBSNews.com senior political editor Vaughn Ververs. “His defense could help ease concerns among Jewish voters and he’s someone who is seen as a potential running mate. This can’t hurt those prospects.”

Bloomberg's passionate defense of Obama in front of a Jewish audience in Florida could help the Illinois senator in the state, which is home to many Jewish voters. He made the remarks while Obama was on a separate, two-day campaign swing through Florida, with stops in Jacksonville and Miami.

Some have questioned Obama's commitment to Israel; this stems partly from his stated willingness to talk with leaders of rogue nations, which McCain and others have criticized as a sign he underestimates the threat posed to Israel by Iran and others in the Middle East.

There is also uneasiness about Obama among some Jewish people because his former church pastor has praised black Muslim leader Louis Farrakhan, who has made anti-Semitic remarks. Obama has disavowed his pastor and left the church.

Earlier this month in a speech to Jewish activists in Washington, Obama referred to the e-mail campaign against him as one "filled with tall tales and dire warnings."

The Muslim rumors have persisted for months, creating occasional difficulties for the campaign. At a rally in Detroit this week, Obama campaign volunteers prohibited two Muslim women who were wearing head scarves from sitting in an area behind him that would be visible in photo and video footage. One of the volunteers reportedly cited "a sensitive political climate" as the reason.

Obama later apologized to the women and said the volunteers were not carrying out campaign policy.

Bloomberg noted in his speech Friday how racial and religious tensions have cooled, and remained calm, in New York City - an achievement for which he is often praised.

One thing he has learned, Bloomberg said, is that one must speak out against those who spread "fear and stereotypes."

"That's why I'm speaking out today," he said, "and I hope all of you will join me throughout this campaign in strongly speaking out against this fear mongering, no matter who you'll be voting for."

Asked later about the potential of being a running mate, Bloomberg said "nobody's ever going to ask me" but didn't rule out accepting the No. 2 job.

There are rumors about this and especially how as a child in Indonesia, he did attend a Muslim school, despite his constant denials. Perhaps he should have considered changing his name. He shouldn''t be too upset with these concerns, given what happened to us on 9-11 and all of the other mayhem around the world all because of radical Muslims. Unfortunately, Obama has had to routinely correct past statements about other associations with those like Jeremiah Wright, or the recent flip-flopping on public financing. Can we believe anything Obama says at this point about anything? He''s using his run for the office like a kid uses training wheels on a bicycle. He''s inexperienced, unqualified and definitely unprepared.

How long did it take Islam and their oil money to find a candidate for President of the United States ? As long as it took them to place a Senator from Illinois and Minnesota ? The same amount of time to create a large Muslim enclave in Detroit ? The time it took them to build over 2,000 mosques in America ? The same amount of time required to place radical wahabbist clerics in our military and prisons as ''''chaplains''''?
Find a candidate who can get away with lying about their father being a ''''freedom fighter'''' when he was actually part of the most corrupt and violent government in Kenya ''''s history. Find a candidate with close ties to The Nation of Islam and the violent Muslim overthrow in Africa , a candidate who is educated among white infidel Americans but hides his bitterness and anger behind a superficial toothy smile. Find a candidate who changes his American name of Barry to the Muslim name of Barak Hussein Obama, and dares anyone to question his true ties under the banner of ''''racism''''. Nurture this candidate in an atmosphere of anti-white American teaching and surround him with Islamic teachers. Provide him with a bitter, racist, anti-white, anti-American wife, and supply him with Muslim middle east connections and Islamic monies. Allow him to be clever enough to get away with his anti-white rhetoric and proclaim he will give $834 billion taxpayer dollars to the Muslim controlled United Nations for use in Africa .

Install your candidate in an atmosphere of deception because questioning him on any issue involving Africa or Islam would be seen as ''''bigoted racism''''; two words too powerful to allow the citizenry to be informed of facts. Allow your candidate to employ several black racist Nation of Islam Louis Farrakhan followers as members of his Illinois Senatorial and campaign staffs.

Obama was born a Muslim and will die a Muslim. He may have accepted Christianity, but you cannot expect a man to act against his own kind... His real dad was a Kenyan Muslim, his step dad was a Asian Muslim, his cousins on his dad''s side are Muslim, his cousins on his step dad''s side are Muslim... Dare I go on? Hiring this guy for the top spot in the U.S. would be like electing a first generation German-American during WWII or a Russian American during the cold war... You have to make sure that, at the very least, the guy entrusted with the defense of the country, is not sympathetic to would-be/have-been enemies of our nation. I don''t like McMummy, but I''ll be damned if I''ll vote for Obama.

Where is the bloodhound American ''''free press'''' who doggedly overturned every stone in the Watergate case? Where are our nation''''s reporters that have placed every Presidential candidate under the microscope of detailed scrutiny; the same press who pursue Bush''''s ''''Skull and Bones'''' club or ran other candidates off with persistent detective and research work? Why haven''''t ''''newsmen'''' pursued the 65 blatant lies told by this candidate during the Presidential primaries? Where are the stories about this candidate''''s cousin and the Muslim butchery in Africa ? Since when did our national press corps become weak, timid, and silent? Why haven''''t they regaled us with the long list of socialists and communists who have surrounded this ''''out of nowhere'''' Democrat candidate or that his church re-printed the Hamas Manifesto in their bulletin, and that his ''''close pastor friend and mentor'''' met with Middle E ast terrorist Moammar Gaddafi, (Guide of the First of September Great Revolution of the Socialist People''''s Libyan Arab Jamahiriya)? Why isn''''t the American press telling us this candidate is supported by every Muslim organization in the world?

HUSSEIN IS A LIAR,,, so says his brother,,,

Malik Obama confirms his half-brother Barack grew up a Muslim

Apparently the Obamas of Kenya have no doubt -- contrary to the claims of the Obama campaign, that the presidential candidate was raised a Moslem. They take that as a given.
"Barack Obama''''s half brother Malik said Thursday that if elected his brother will be a good president for the Jewish people, despite his Muslim background. In an interview with Army Radio he expressed a special salutation from the Obamas of Kenya."

But off-shore drilling is just the latest apparent shift in views. Perhaps most glaringly, in May 2001, McCain said of the Bush tax cuts, %u201CI cannot in good conscience support a tax cut in which so many of the benefits go to the most fortunate among us, at the expense of middle class Americans who most need tax relief." In October 2007, McCain promised, %u201CI will not let the Democrats roll back the Bush tax cuts," and he''s making an issue out of Sen. Barack Obama''s desire to repeal the same tax cuts McCain opposed. Parenthetically, compared to the flip-flops by McCain on numerous, significant issues of the day, this change by Sen. Obama is meaningless. Anyone, who thinks McCain is a reformer better take a hard look at the numerous conflicting statements he has made over the past few months. Anyone who thinks McCain is honest and has integrity, should go back to the early 90s to study the "Keating Five" scandal, which almost landed him in prison. Further, as Obama stated, the Republicans have learned to circumvent public financing restrictions through the use of 527 organizations and the like. Sure, the Republicans will scream long and loud about this meaningless "news". But, my checkbook is open, and my pen is ready, to make more contributions to Obama''s run for the Presidency, which he will win by a landslide come November.

A formal plan for targeting America was devised three years after the Iranian revolution in 1982. The plan was summarized in a 1991 memorandum by Mohamed Akram, an operative of the global Muslim Brotherhood. ''''The process of settlement'''' of Muslims in America , Akram explained, ''''is a civilization jihad process.'''' This means that members of the Brotherhood must understand that their work in ''''America is a kind of grand jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and sabotaging its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God''''s religion is made victorious over all other religions.''''

Come on people, this is nothing more than the OsamaObama camp doing with this, exactly what they did with the race card. They set people out to start it, so they can pump up enough smoke and dust to distract from his real problems that can''t be denied:

OsamaObama is the #1 most libwad member of the US Senate.

OsamaObama is a black separatist...So who cares what religion such silliness springs from.

OsamaObama is so inexperienced and imature he fled from a debate format that favors the quicker of wit. Thus admitting a man old enough to be his Daddy is the quicker witted of the two.

OsamaObama admits this $4.00+ a gallon fuel priced don''t both him, he simply wished they would not have gotten this high prior to him getting in the White House. Truth being, if he does get in the White House, in combination with a filibuster proof Senate....$4.00 will look *** cheap compared to where prices will go.

Who needs to call OsamaObama a Muslim...Just look at a small list of his un-Americanism above.

There is terrorism we can see, smell and fear, but there is a new kind of terror invading The United States in the form of Sharia law and finance. Condoning it is civilization suicide. Middle East Muslims are coming to America in record numbers and building hate infidel mosques, buying our corporations, suing us for our traditions, but they and the whole subject of Islam is white noise leaving uninformed Americans about who and what is really peaceful. Where is our investigative press? Any criticism of Islam or their intentions, even though Islamic leaders state their intentions daily around the globe, brings-forth a volley of ''''racist'''' from the left-wing Democrat crowd.
Lies and deception behind a master plan - the ingredients for ''''The Manchurian Candidate'''' or the placement of an anti-American President in our nation''''s White House? Is it mere coincidence that an anti-capitalist run for President at the same time Islamic sharia finance and law is trying to make advancing strides into the United States ? Is it mere coincidence thi s same candidate wants to dis-arm our nuclear capability at a time when terrorist Muslim nations are expanding their nuclear weapons capability? Is it mere coincidence this candidate wants to reduce our military at a time of global jihad from Muslim nations?

Change for America ?

The Jihad Candidate

Conspiracy theories make for interesting novels when the storyline is not so absurd that it can grasp our attention. ''''The Manchurian Candidate'''' and ''''Seven Days in May'''' are examples of plausible chains of events that captures the reader''''s imagination at best-seller level. ''''What if'''' has always been the solid grist of fiction.
Get yourself something cool to drink, find a relaxing position, but before you continue, visualize the television photos of two jet airliners smashing into the Twin Towers in lower Manhattan and remind yourself this cowardly act of Muslim terror was planned for eight years.

MCVet is a terrorist Loving Democrat who hates America. Every word out of his mouth is a ****** about something American. The U.S. State Department said that there has been a marked reduction in terrorist activities and violence in IRAQ and Afghanistan. They also said that the reduction may do to "political considerations in the world arena, including the United States". In other words, Al Qaeda wants a Muslim President who will be much more sympathetic to their genocidal cause.

OsamaObama is the #1 most libwad member of the US Senate. And, it can easily be shown how he''s come by this nation destroying title very honestly.

OsamaObama has admitted to be a a black separatist for the past 20 years...So who really cares what religion or denomination such silliness springs from?

I believe much more is being made of this than is real. People are concerned for other reasons such as no experience, no record of accomplishment, and seemingly lacks trust of mainstream Americans. You cannot diss Small-Town America and act the elitist. His questionable associates, such as Rezko and the two pastors, and his wife''s comments are of concern to Americans. Then, he disses public financing for which we designate on our tax returns that tax dollars be used for this. If the Jewish community has concerns, and I say if, then it may be whether he has the backbone to defend Israel. I simply do not believe nor have I read the type of things Mayor Bloomberg speaks of.

Once again it is time to remind people Obama is not, repeat not, a Muslim. I don''t know why is becomes necessary to be so blatant about hammering that point home but from some of the comments I have read on this thread and others when the Obama-Muslim connection comes up; it is plain to me that I (and others who know better) have to use the 2 by 4.
"A child of a Muslim father is a Muslim." No, not necessarily. That is a choice many children of Islamic daddies do make but not always.
His Kenyan connections are of no relavence to Obama''s fitness for the White House.
His association with the Rev. Wright is irrelevant. McCain''s relationship with Hargee is far more relevant and FAR more toxic to American values than anything Obama or Wright could come up with. Besides, other than his idiotic assertion that AIDS is a White man''s plot to eradicate the Black man, most of Wright''s comments are spot on.
But, let''s just say for the sake of my inner troll that Obama IS a Muslim; that he''s been hiding his true beliefs under a shroud of liberal Christianity...In light of the past 8 years under which the sociopathic duo of Bush and Cheney gave us the worst presidential administration in U.S. history and one of the most damaging regiemes on the planet since Idi Amin ruined Uganda; I am not about to worry much about our next president''s religious affiliations.

your comments about obama being the most liberal is the same line your camp used on kerry 4 years ago...and then gore 4 years before that

the mistake you are making this time is that the country is ready to turn away from the neo-cons and good republicans are going to suffer cause they worked with them

These people do not care how much hate they create. They care even less for the truth! I sincerely believe American''s are on to their game and will strike them down as they did in Joe McCarthy''s day! YES WE CAN!!
