Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz) has decided to hold a fundraiser initially sponsored by a controversial Texas oilman later in the summer at a different venue, according to an aide who asked not to be identified.

McCain had planned to hold a joint fundraiser with the Republican National Committee on Monday at the Midland, Tex., home of Clayton Williams, who ran for governor of his state in 1990. But after reporters from The Washington Post and ABC inquired Friday about a remark Williams made comparing rape to bad weather -- "As long as it's inevitable, you might as well lie back and enjoy it" -- the campaign cancelled the fundraiser. Williams has apologized for the remarks.

This morning, a McCain aide confirmed in an e-mail that the contributors who had already made a combined donation of at least $300,000 to the event would have another chance to meet McCain.

"The event at Williams' home on Monday has been cancelled and there will be another Midland event for supporters at a public venue later this summer," the staffer wrote.

According to the McCain aide, "Mr. Williams will not be attending the Midland event later this summer."

You said it all in a nutshell!

This is why McBush & his posse will be in "Spin-Dry" in the next phase of the campaign''s...right now, he is in the "Tumble" mode as we now see right before our very eyes.

And with his recent blunders, I think even Helen Keller can see them!

The GOP promises only to preserve the Union and the Constitution just they have since the party began.

Yes, they have definitely been protecting the constitution for the past 7 years - taking away the right of habeus corpus, violating the first amendment with illegal wiretaps, violating the separation of the branches of government with the executive branch ordering firings in the judicial branch, waging an illegal war after giving America lies about Iraq and wmd''s.

"Well, bad weather is like rape: if it''s inevitable, you might as well relax and enjoy it."

Clayton Williams

McCain fund raiser. He raised $300,000.00 for McCain. McCain said he didn''t know about this remark; he''s not familiar with the Internet. He refused to return the money.

I wonder how many time he''s been raped.

In all seriousness folks, merely do even the slightest examination of the way each party runs a campaign:

The GOP promises only to preserve the Union and the Constitution just they have since the party began.

The Democrat Party only knows how to promise to destroy America as built, just as the founders of their party promised. It''''s like the scorpion hitching the ride on the frogs back. It''''s just what they do. And, smooth this out they promise to give you more largess if you vote for them.

EXACTLY! Isn''t it strange when you wake up and turn around and realize it was a democratic president and a republican congress that brought this country to peace and prosperity in the 1990''s!!!

The watchdog organization Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington had sued under FOIA. The group expressed disappointment in the ruling and said it is appealing the decision.

"The Bush administration is using the legal system to prevent the American people from discovering the truth about the millions of missing White House e-mails," said Melanie Sloan, the organization''''s executive director.

In January, the White House said it cannot rule out that it may have lost certain e-mails. The possibly lost e-mails are from a period in which the United States decided to go to war with Iraq, White House officials leaked the identity of CIA officer Valerie Plame and the Justice Department started a criminal investigation into who leaked the information.

Same judge in 2007:

Judge rules Bush can%u2019t block presidential records.

Today, a federal judge %u201Cinvalided part of a 2001 order by President Bush allowing former presidents to review executive documents before they can be released under open records laws.%u201D The AP reports:

bushreading3.jpg U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly ruled that the presidential order eliminated the discretion of the National Archives to control the release historical records. She said the executive order allowed former presidents to delay the release of those records %u201Cpresumably indefinitely.%u201D

The ruling was made in a lawsuit filed by the American Historical Association and other organizations, which argued that Bush%u2019s Executive Order 13,233 was an %u201Cimpermissible exercise of the executive power.%u201D

So I guess the Bush Gangs latest ploy is,''We no longer have the records so we cannot turn them over.''

4 More Years:
White House office wins ruling on e-mail records

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The White House Office of Administration is not required to turn over records about a trove of possibly missing e-mails, a federal judge ruled Monday.

The White House Office of Administration is not bound by the Freedom of Information Act, a judge says.

The ruling by U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly found the agency does not have "substantial independent authority" so it is not subject to the Freedom of Information Act.

The decision means the White House does not have to disclose documents relating to its troubled e-mail system. That system developed problems that may have caused millions of White House e-mails to be unaccounted for.

After looking at OsamaObama, Harry "Palms" Reid, and SanFran Nan''s plans for raping and pillaging America over the next few years, personally I''d have to be able to justify thieft as a moral lifestyle before I could vote for any Democrat.

Of course we need only remember the Democrat Party Motto:

"My vote is for sale!"

It''s just as funny watching McCain trying to sound like Gore campaigning on global warming issues.
