(AP)  Actress Gina Gershon is speaking out publicly for the first time about a magazine report that she says implies she had an affair with former President Bill Clinton.

Gershon says the article in Vanity Fair "is such a crazy, outrageous lie."

The article says Clinton had been seen "visiting" Gershon. A spokesperson for the magazine has said the article didn't intend to imply there was an affair.

Gershon told "Live with Regis and Kelly" that she's met Clinton "three times at, you know, events at the White House, or, you know, different places."

She says stories like these should never make it into print. She says "lies are the new facts.

Gershon has played roles in Cocktail (1988), Showgirls (1995) and Bound (1996). She has also appeared on TV shows, such as "Ugly Betty," "Rescue Me" and "Curb Your Enthusiasm," among others.

What is wrong with the American Public? Are you just chasing smut news to make headlines? Leave that poor man alone. It is his personal affairs. I''m sure its the Republicans all over again, trying to dig up some sleazy news via its natural way - sleazy. A message to the Republicans: "Try to do something to help the Nation, not something to destroy the Nation." We seem to revell in this kind of smut politics, because of the hunger for such dirty news that people like to read in print. Finally Republicans - "Get off Bill''s back!!"

Gina is gorgeous and extremely talented. She should be cast instantly in the title role of the dramatic-suspense film script: "VIXEN"

(Unfortunately... I haven''t written it yet. It''s just that I know Gina would be perfect for a motion picture of that genre/title.)
