Hillary Clinton
A look at a life and career full of firsts.
Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton said in an interview that she has "no idea" whether she will appeal a Democratic Party decision on seating Michigan's delegates -- a move that would prolong the Democratic nominating battle for weeks and potentially take it to the national convention.
"I don't know yet, we'll consider that. And I'll talk to my supporters to try to determine that in the future," Clinton said late Sunday afternoon, when asked if she is planning to challenge the Democratic National Committee ruling. "We reserve the right to do it. But I haven't made a decision yet."
Clinton chose to be interviewed by phone rather than in person as she prepared to give a victory speech here.
During the eight-minute call, she spoke most extensively about the case she intends to make with renewed vigor over the next few days: That superdelegates should pay extra attention now to the fact that she has won so many popular votes and performed so well in recent contests.
If she was preparing an exit strategy, Clinton did not share it. She also knocked down reports that her husband is pushing for Sen. Barack Obama to make her his vice presidential pick. "I do not believe that is happening," she said. "It's not -- you know, I'm not aware of it."
Clinton declined to elaborate on earlier remarks she had made about some of the sexism she had encountered during the race, saying that while she had "a lot of thoughts on the subject" she would rather not discuss it at the moment.
"Let's come back to that another time," she said.
She also said she was unsure how much of her own money she had put into the race so far. "Oh, we can get to that number -- I don't have it off the top of my head," she said.
Asked what mistakes she has made in the course of the campaign and what lessons she had learned from them, Clinton demurred. "Oh, I have not had time to think about that," she said.
"I am focused on winning the nomination," she said. "I am thrilled by my big victory today in Puerto Rico. More people have woken up and gone to the polls and voted for me than anybody in the history of presidential nominating campaigns. So I'm going to stay focused on what is the business at hand, which is making my case to the delegates, and there'll be time, oh, way in the future to consider the campaign, because it's still very much alive and ongoing."

See all 578 CommentsMcCain will: Continue the WAR (only the president has a voice on when & where our troops go)
McCain will: Continue Bush''s failed foreign affairs policies (we are loosing ''friendly nations status'' at a terrifying rate!)
McCain will: Veto any attempt to repeal the Bush Tax Cuts (4 years ago McCain said he couldn''t in good concience vote for them because they mostly benefited the top 10% of earners - $250,000 plus)
McCain will: Only name judicial candidates for the bench who have a reliable conservative outlook. (with the goal of overturning Roe vs. Wade)
McCain will: Continue to disregard the ''Will of the People''. (in his owns words: "I don''''t care what the majority of Voters want.")
If you vote for McCain you are voting for more WAR, widespread POVERTY, continued SPECIAL INTEREST, more companies moving OVERSEES, & less PERSONAL FREEDOMS.
VOTE FOR ANYONE BUT MCCAIN IF YOU LOVE THIS COUNTRY!
McCain has now unveiled his %u2018Foreign Policy%u2019, which was supposed to show his BREAK from the Bush administration. It is an utter joke. In his speech, McCain proposes doing several things we are already doing to prevent nuclear proliferation, followed by a handful vague promises quite similar to those made by Bush as a candidate in 2000?
Is this guy even aware of the REAL change Americans are looking for?
If McCain%u2019s campaign wants to claim they are breaking with the Current Administration, a few vague details in a speech and some new inspirational rhetoric won%u2019t cut it. They%u2019d have to lay out a whole new approach to foreign policy, one that includes actual DIPLOMATIC engagement. But McCain won%u2019t, because he%u2019s even more hawkish than Bush.
However, if they want to show the REAL John McCain%u2026I found this post which was quite appropriate:
Senator McCain4s foreign policy plans probably include the use of military forces. His foreign policy representative poster should be that of an Apache helicopter with guns ready under the caption %u201CWanna talk?%u201D

You desperate vannies are a hoot. You do know McCain has already told your archangel Jesus John Hagee to stuff it? You guys love betrayal, don''t you?
And still no United States of Jesusland.
Hillary continues to be a dividing force in the democratic party which may very well have a devastating impact on the 2008 election which was suppose to be an easy contest for the democrats. If she carries this fight beyond Wednesday once Obama has the delegate numbers in hand once the superdelegates he has lined up make their annoucement she will not only be killing the democratic chances for 08 but killing her future in the party as well.
Do you suppose we tread down the same path toward another 4 more years of setbacks. If Mccain gets the presidency, chaos will begin it''s final descent upon America.
If it weren''t for Bill-loser-Clinton, Hillary would not be where she is- have the sense of achievement she did not earn- ( what has she done to desrve such a leadership role?!) and is NOT entitled to JUST because she was first lady. Think about it.
True statement...
Obama will LOSE horribly. Adios DUMMO-crats
That''s an excellent description of Bush, the architect of our descent.
How does the "Annie" song go?

There''s a difference between a fighter and a divider; there''s a difference between a righteous person and who who manipulates circumstances to favor herself over the public good. Hillarys'' actions are not good for the party and not good for the country - and have only served to make McCain a more viable candidate. She is selfish and doesn''t care what the fallout of her actions are - ADMIRED, not a chance!!!!!!!
All this is for show. She won''t disappoint her fans until she has to and that won''t be until after Montana closes tomorrow and the rest of the superdelegates vote later this week. The American people has spoken and the democratic delegates are listening, for once! They do not want to risk angering their constituants or they risk being bounced come Nov. Even those with ties to the Clintons, like Bill Richardson have listened.
Hillary is no fool and she knows *** well that to continue to battle Obama after he clinches the nomination is dangerous for her party. All the ducks need to be in a row to take on Fossil John this summer.
I predict she will give up her chase and line up behind Obama, keep whatever misgivings she has to herself and devote her considerable talents to helping him defeat the reps. So will BC.
I expect to hear her withdrawal speech within a week to 10 days.

Your absolutely right - thank god Hillary is losing!!
Man...I wish sequels were as consistantly interesting as their originals, but "The Imperial Presidency, III" has a horrible example to follow to start with, so I doubt that it would be any good, either.
I don''t know...maybe Hillary is just trying to be practical, and she thinks that battling a reinvigorated Puerto Rican separatists'' movement will provide good training before she too ships our men and women off to Iraq?
hmmmm...too many people have learned what happens when they see her lips move?
True statement...

During the Clinton administration she had her very own Project all by herself, was completely in charge, answered only to the President!, it was her baby and it failed, it was a complete disaster! It was her attempt to provide National Health Care, but that failure has prepared her to fail all by herself next time, as President! Other than this project, I''m not aware of any others except Outsourcing U.S. IT Jobs to India where Sen. Clinton (D-Punjab) is the shadow Senator! Even as a Lawyer for the Rose Law Firm, her partnet Vince Foster "allegedly" committed suicide and her Whitewater project was scandal ridden and failed too! So really what has she done? Where is all this ready on day one Presidential experience? Based on this background she might trip and break something trying to answer that 3am phone call from eating all those Jelly Donuts and Pizza that put her campaign $20 million in the red!! LOL
Fuzzy what shall we talk of today ?
lets see I guess what is a very troubling course of events in the nations politics
now I am not a Democrat so you will need to explain to me what a Superior Deligate is ?
it appears they show up in at least three sizes
mini Deligates .) Democrat party members with only half the influence of prestige, usually people from Michigan, the non Elietest State
Regular Deligate .) Democrat party members with the average run of the Mill influence of prestige, usually People from Florida
Super or Superior Delegates .) Democratic party members with 10 million amounts of influence of Prestige, usually only People from Hawvard
actually we don`t know how many of these Superior Delegates there are, perhaps maybe only a handful.
in any event I don`t think as an Independent voter that I would cast a vote for a party that allows only a small handful of Superior Delegates to decide who their candidate will be,
sounds to me alot like Mousy Tung.
sincerely the last of the true patiotic Bears,

The would definitely be a first - the first time someone won the general election without even being in it, that is.
sounds to me alot like Mousy Tung.

You''re right..it kind of reminds me of having a Supreme Court Justice decide who would become president back in 2000!
I disagree. She is a corporatist, and her supporters are corporatists.
For instance, P.A. Governor Ed Rendell, an outspoken supporter of hers, is currently trying to lease the Pennsylvania turnpike to an investor group for 75 years.
Pretty kewl, huh? Sell off not only the current Pennsylvanian''s control over their infrastructure...but that of their children, their children''s children, and their children''s children''s children, and their children''s children''s children''s children.
lollll...do you trust "an investor group" not to shaft you with higher tolls? And "tolls" are certainly not a "progressive tax" - as they certainly take a proportionately smaller share of a wealthy person''s income.
The aforementioned article just loves the idea...but when was the last time you saw something that "an investor group" wanted to do and a financial publication loved that was good for the Average American, rather than just a small, select group of the already wealthy?

If you could spell then someone might take you more seriously. As it is, you look you have the equivalent of perhaps the third grade. yea yea... it''s a typo... right... but you did it twice the same way.
Taking political advice from someone who cannot construct simple sentences and spell correctly... oh yea, you''re at the top of my list.
IT''S OVER!!!
YOU''RE DONE!!!
THERE IS A FORK IN YOU!!!
THE FAT LADY SANG 2 MONTHS AGO!!!
THE LIGHTS ARE OUT!!!

AFTER Barack is SWORN in on JAN , Hillary will still be out on the campaign trail saying its alive and well.
This is the kind of behaviour you see on TV from mental patients at a HAPPY FARM.
OH Hillary you CRAZY PERSON.

YOU GO GIRL...YOU GO FAR, FAR AWAY..ITS OVER GIRL..
ITS OVER !!
THIS IS A DELEGATE RACE, NOT A POPULAR VOTE RACE, THAT COULD CHANGE AT ANY DATE.
AL GORE & JOHN KERRY WON THE ''POPULAR VOTE'' AS WELL AND STILL LOST TO GEORGE BUSH.
HILLARY, YOU GO GIRL, YOU GO FAR, FAR, FAR, AWAY !!
ITS TOO MUCH TOO LITTLE TOO LATE...TO EVER TRY AGAIN.
NOTE: HAD OBAMA BEEN IN YOUR SHOES, I`D SAY THE SAME D@MN THING, ITS TOO MUCH TO LITLE TOO LATE.
AL GORE & JOHN KERRY WILL TELL YOU THE D@MN THING, IF YOU HAD THE HUMILTY & FORTITUDE TO ASK..
D@MN HILLARY...
YOUR A!! IS OVER 25 MILLION $$ IN DEBT AND UNPAID BILLS IN OHIO !!
OBAMA PAID HIS DEBTS OFF, BUT YOU CERTAINLY WOULD NOT WIN OHIO IN A GENERAL ELECTION, AFTER WELCHING THAT STATE AND OTHER STATES OFF...
NO WAY !!

To be fair... the party owes her NOTHING as well!!!
The video of the priest in Obama''s church, while arguably tastless... no doubt was funny... and is proving to be ironically true now isn''t it!!!
You think Hillary should be allowed to benefit from Michigan and Florida''s rule breaking...you think the superdelegate rules should be changed to benefit Hillary...you think the rules should be changed and that delegates should be tied to the popular vote...
In short, you think that Hillary should be able to change or ignore rules just like George W. Bush currently changes or ignores laws with his "executive orders" and "signing statements".
CONFESS, HILLARY SUPPORTERS!
You don''t want a President, YOU WANT A KING!
(Or a queen, as the case may be.)
YEAH RUN AS A INDEPENDENT AND GO ANOTHER 50 MILLION DOLLARS IN DEBT AND COMBINE IT WITH HILLARY''S OVER 25 MILLION $$ IN DEBT, THATS ALREADY ACCOUNTED FOR...
THAT SOUNDS LIKE A DIE HARD LOSING FORMULA, TO AN ALREADY DIE HARD LOSING CLINTON CANDIDACY.
OBAM WILL HAVE ANOTHER WHITE FEMLE RUN WITH HIM, AS VICE PRESIDENT, BUT NOT THIS WOMAN.
HILLARY HAS A BOBBY KENNEDY JR. FIXATION AND HER AMBITION TO BE # 1 EXCEDES THAT OF BEING # 2..
ITS IN HER RHODHAM-CLINTON GENES, BY ANY AND ALL MEANS NECCESSARY.
I don''t agree with the contention that anything Hillary does will kill the chance of Dems; hurt our chances, yes; kill them,no.
The rules don''t require anything of the Super Delegates and it''s been clear for some time that the Clinton''s will do anything in their power(money, girls, boos, boys, whatever) to entice the Supers to overturn the will of the voters as reflected by the pledged delegates. They will go to those lengths because they have to in order to win and winning power has always been more important to them than the Party.
The Super Delegates are a remnant of the old days of Party Bosses(or current day D.C. to put it another way). I doubt if it will work this time but i''m certain that the witch will go to any lengths to see if it will.
When the Primaries are over and he has the most pledged delegates, has won the most states, and has won the popular vote as measured by objective and not fantasy means those who are real Democrats will line up behind the winner and those who are Republican moles will flock to McBush.
Too bad "Billary"!!!
Pay the people you owe money to... and disappear!!!
