(CBS)  Poor Kate Middleton.

She's having in-law problems already, taking some heat, and she's not even engaged to Britain's Prince William -- let alone married.

According to a published report, the prince's grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, is telling confidantes she's upset that, four years after graduating, Middleton doesn't have a career yet. Lacking a full-time job, Middleton's been working part-time for her family's company.

The story was broken by Daily Mail reporter Katie Nicholl, who says the situation has come to be known as "the Katie problem" in royal circles.

Nicholl told Early Show co-anchor Julie Chen Monday Middleton has had a job offer that might satisfy the Queen, but has been hesitant about taking it -- though that may be changing.

All this as long-running speculation continues over when -- and whether -- Kate and William will get engaged.

From the few comments I''ve read here,I can see your a bunch of morons.I dearly love William,I think he is a kind,fun-loving young man who has his beautiful mothers caring heart.I would guess that Kate is the same way.And all these dirty remarks about her is proof of how stupid you all are.I am an American but more and more everyday I''m ashamed at what this country has become, not the country, but the people who just take up space. The hatred, the racist and the sexist.

"Flat chest, thin lips, and unemployed... Wow... you would think Prince William could pick someone better than that!"

SORRY CPAIDE. Lots of women over here are very well endowed. For Example, Princess Diana was a very beautiful woman and well endowed. Kate Middleton is pathetic in comparison -- the Great Plains!

The Queen has certainly come into the 21st Century, as I would think the Monarch would prefer the little woman to be at her Prince''s beckon call.

June 2nd 1953 - I watched the Queen''s Coronation on a 9-inch black and white TV - rows of chairs with neighbours packed into our front room - went to a fancy-dress street party reminiscent of VE Day - got wet because, as usual, it was raining.

June 2nd 2008 - read comments about the Queen on this CBS website - "what did the old broad do before she got her crown?" (liberalme)- "the queen just needs to get laid" (trenticus) - "the queen of england is a poopy head" (cantshutup).

How times have changed - or is it just that America and Britain are completely different places and always will be?

I have not the words to explain how much I do not care. Why does Briton have a royal family??? They have no power anyway? How could you look in the mirror everyday and say "I''m the Queen" but then realize that I have NO influence in the direction my country takes? Because I''m only a glorified Mascot?

She would be better off marrying the RavenMaster.

What a story... Do Americans really care about the personal lives of the lavish British toads?

CBS needs more stories about Princes, Pirates, Witches, and Sorcerers, oh wait, Katie Couric did do a story recently on the Republicans and John McSmurf.
