(AP)  A string of shootings in Harlem sent eight people, including half a dozen teenagers, to nearby hospitals with gunshot wounds, police said on Tuesday.

All of the victims were expected to recover from their injuries. It was not immediately clear whether the teenage victims were wounded at Marcus Garvey Park, where a crowd had gathered, or as they fled when gunfire erupted about 10:15 p.m. Monday, police said.

The victims - between the ages of 13 and 18 - were found on several blocks along Lenox Avenue, from 125th Street to 128th Street. They had been shot in the chest, thigh, torso, abdomen or foot, police said. A 15-year-old girl had been grazed on the forehead. Detectives were still at the crime scene early Tuesday morning. No arrests had been made.

Police flooded the area and blocked off streets in the hours after the shooting at the park as they searched for suspects. Residents were told to go inside their homes.

Two men, ages 26 and 20, were wounded in unrelated shootings about half an hour before and after violence broke out at the park, police said.

I make it a point to stay out of predominantly black urban neighborhoods.

I have no qualms about helping the gangbangers do each other, the sooner they are dead the better.

You can have whatever is in my place which is nothing valuable. Believe me. You want my car. Take it. I''m not dying over that or even getting a black eye over it. Screw it.

You want to mess with my mother or brother then I might wish I had an uzi. Point taken there.

But material things/personal property don''t mean anything to me. What, I can''t buy another TV or computer?

How many people do you think would get sufficient training in the proper use of a firearm? Can you assume people are going to be responsible?

The good thing is that thugs are killing thugs at a pretty high rate. Not fast enough for me of course.
Maybe they should get more training in how to aim so they don''t hit innocent people.

Killing people because they bumped into you... Oy vey. That''s the definition of insanity.

Go figure.

NY POST:

"I could have lost my only child," said Eugenia Stinson, whose son, Marquis, 26, was shot three times after bumping into someone on West 131st Street shortly before 11 p.m.

Thirty minutes earlier, a blitz of bullets along Malcolm X Boulevard left six teens wounded outside Marcus Garvey Park.

Don''t want to bump into anyone. Step on their $250 sneaks.

"Malcolm X Boulevard" & "Marcus Garvey Park". I''m sure both gentlemen are very proud.

I have found the solution to road rage. This only applies to rational people and those with an iq high enough to understand right from wrong. If you accidently cut someone off, wave and say sorry or pull along side and apologize. If someone cuts you off wave and smile letting them know you understand and i am not saying wave the middle finger. Anyone can make a mistake, if you get mad every time you are the one who will end up with a heart attack or stroke. Most people don''t care what you say or think when you get mad at them. Let the anger go, it does no one any good.

What about the people these gangbangers make victims when they do home robberies and steal their cars from them ? When they come into their businesses and rob them ?

You don''t have to worry about the people who have a registered, licensed handgun. They''re not the problem. Unless maybe they have been drinking & get into an argument with someone. Not sure I want to live in a community where every other adult male was packing some heat. Have to duck every time I cut someone off in traffic.

You are right. Target shooting at a range is one thing, when your in a situation it is entirely different and ou only have a couple of seconds at most to make a decision what your going to do. Been there and decided.

I don''t think these black guys discriminate. They will shoot anyone they feel like regardless of race.

If you''re not in a gang or involved in the drug trade, the odds of getting shot are slim.

If these guns were all legal and owned by people that had a right to use thm, then the penalties for breaking the law need to be tougher.

I have no interest in carrying a gun for protection or keeping one in my bedroom.

You disappoint me. Now you want to take handguns away from law abiding citizens ? How will we protect ourselves from these gangbangers ? Also you forgot to mention hands, if you know what your doing they are a lethal weapon.

Practice on the range is good it familiarizes you with the weapon. However until you are in a confrontational situation you really hav no idea how you will react. When someone asks me if they should buy a handgun,i ask are you 100% sure you would use it when the time comes. If they have any doubt i tell them not to buy.

Shooting at a gun range is one thing. Calmly aiming & squeezing the trigger at the two thugs as they get ready to rape your wife & daughter is something else entirely. You think you''re going to be "Dirty Harry"?

When will young black men get tired of shooting black people?

Harlem? Hmm... Go figure.

It''s the fault of the mayor & the police! Got to be a way to blame this on white people.

I work in the city but live in the suburbs. Nice to get back home at night. Of course nowhere is 100% safe. Gangs are everywhere.

How many guns do we have in the USA? As many as there are people? 300 million? Somewhere around there.
