(CBS)  If you have taken a look at the new suits for summer, you might have noticed a few interesting trends: the cuts are a little more conservative, the prints are a little bolder.

Continuing our series "Summer Starts Early," Allyson Waterman, director of special projects for Lucky Magazine, breaks down some of the new looks for us with suits to suit every budget.

Waterman presented Lucky's three favorite trends and options for each to show that you really can find these suits at all prices and they are widely available online and at local department stores. Take note ladies: the one-piece is back in a big way.

When looking for a swimsuit, we should always take body type and the shape of the suit into consideration. As you probably already know, not all suits work for all body types - but these trends are quite versatile and you can likely find one that suits you.

Swimsuit trend No. 1: The Pinup

This look is quintessentially feminine. The 1950s-style accentuates womanly curves and also adds a high-fashion element to your beach look.

Polka dot bikini: Victoria's Secret, $80
Victoria's Secret

The high-waisted two-piece from Victoria's Secret costs $80.
The halter is great for small and big chests. If you are bigger on top, the piece is perfect for support since you can tie as tight as you need. If you have a smaller bust, the cups are great because they can help create some curves up top.

Purple full-piece: Carmen Marc Valvo, $158

A more expensive option from Carmen Marc Valvo has rouging -- a fantastic component to keep in mind when looking for a suit, as it is incredibly slenderizing through the tummy. The lower-cut hips on this suit also harkens back to the '50s - which we can't get enough of this season.

Swimsuit trend No. 2: The Monokini

The cut-out monokini has made such a mega comeback! It is totally 1980s, but brings out curves like no other shape we've seen. The cutouts are flattering and actually work great on straighter figures to help create a tiny waist and larger bust with the plunging neckline. This look can come across as very girly or even rocker girl, depending on the pattern or color you choose.

Bamboo Ring one-piece monokoni: Victoria's Secret, $50
Victoria's Secret

This swimsuit is youthful and fun, but also sexy and feminine. There's a deep plunge neckline, but the leg cut is still conservative. Black keeps it traditional, while still allowing the wearer to feel sexy.

Pink: DKNY, $108

A more expensive look from DKNY comes in the quintessential color of summer and the twisted detail at the hips adds an interesting element to a monochromatic suit. The plunging neckline creates the illusion of a larger bust.

Swimsuit trend No. 3: Sleek & Strapless

Strapless will forever be classically elegant. Whether it is a beautiful dress or swimwear, showing off your shoulders is a great way to show some skin. These suits epitomize beach fashion with elements of trends that were so popular this season.

Zig zag bikini: Old Navy, $39,

We just fell in love with the colors and the pattern of this Missoni-esque swimsuit with a zig-zag pattern. Waterman says there's no better palette than neon for the beach this summer.

White full piece: DKNY, $108

One of DKNY's signature suits for the season is cut a bit more forgiving on the hips and has an empire waist-tie belt, which is so chic and flattering. It's pretty much like wearing you favorite summer dress to the beach! It is flirty, full coverage, and right on-point with summer beach style.
