Video Cops Charged In Groom Shooting CBS News RAW: New York's Queens County district attorney, Richard Brown, announces the indictments of three New York City police officers in the shooting death of Sean Bell.
Police officials confirmed Tuesday that administrative charges were brought against three detectives acquitted last month of criminal charges.
Four other officers and a supervisor were also hit with administrative charges. The charges could result in their firing.
Twenty-three-year-old Sean Bell died in a hail of 50 bullets in 2006 after his bachelor party at a bar. Two friends were seriously wounded.
The police defendants said at trial that they opened fire because they believed Bell and his friends were armed. No weapon was recovered.

Most likely they would and should, but since the courts chose to over the extreme nature of the violations of Mr. Bell''s civil rights, even the most severe sanction by internal affairs cannot bring justice to the Bell family, the perpetrators will not miss one steak dinner as a result. If they are fired, they will simply take even better paying jobs as private security. - Reply to this comment
