(CBS)  When Usher steps on to the "Dancing With The Stars" stage Tuesday night, he won't just be there as a musical performer, he'll be there as a fan.

"As a performer, I love it," the 29-year-old R&B superstar told The ShowBuzz. "I love both shows ('Dancing With The Stars' and 'American Idol'). They give us a great plane of exposure for up-and-coming talent as well as for artists that are well-established."

Usher will be on the finale of the ABC ballroom competition to promote his fifth album, "Here I Stand," out May 27. This is the singer's first album since his marriage to Tameka Foster and the birth of their first child last year.

He says the new album reflect his personal growth since his 2004 multi-platinum "Confessions."

"Here you have before you a young man who stepped into true manhood," Usher told The ShowBuzz in a recent interview. "Not only because of my child but because of the decisions I made in the last two years. Now I'm able to voice how I feel about certain things and allow myself to be vulnerable in exposing certain things through my music."

One thing's for certain, Usher is still a hitmaker. In March, the album's lead single, "Love In This Club" posted the third-largest jump to No. 1 in Billboard Hot 100 history, rocketing from No. 51 the week before.

The song features Young Jeezy, and the remix of the song has appearances by Beyonce and Lil Wayne. Will.i.am and Jay-Z are also on the album.

In the future, Usher said he would like to collaborate with fellow multi-hyphenate talent Justin Timberlake.

"I honestly feel like Justin is the equivalent of me white, and I am the equivalent of what he could be black," Usher laughed. "I know that sounds crazy, but I hear that comparison all the time.

"I think if we came together there would be no color barrier. It would be two guys making an incredible record."

In the meantime, Usher is gearing up for quite a busy year. In addition to promoting the album, he has numerous business ventures and his foundation to think about. He says he's able to get everything done by having a great team and employing basic time management techniques.

Out of all the roles he plays, parenting is the most important to Usher.

"I want to be the coolest dad in the world," he said. "I want to make sure that I'm proud of the father that I am to my child. That would be the most rewarding out of all of them."
