Boy, 12, Beheads Man In Al Qaeda Video

Video Shows Gruesome Training Exercise For Young Militants

  • Play CBS Video Video Al Qaeda Videos Target Kids

Children as young as six-years-old are being turned into killers, after being recruited through al Qaeda training videos that make war look like a game. Mark Strassmann reports.

  •  (CBS/AP)

(CBS)  This story was written by CBS News producer Farhan Bokhari based in Islamabad, Pakistan, for CBSNews.com.

Amid cries of ‘Allah o Akbar’ (god is great), a young boy, barely 12 years old, lifts his machete and strikes at his victim who is lying on the ground, all tied up for the kill.

Waving a ‘V’ for victory sign with his right hand, the boy picks up the severed head and shows it around to the chants of applause from an audience gathered in a remote part of the region straddling the mountainous range which divides Pakistan and Afghanistan.

The performance in this chilling episode which may simply shock most people around the world, is the case of militant justice meted out to supposed traitors. It involves Al Qaeda and the Taliban slapping exemplary punishment to an individual suspected to be a spy for the government.

“This (boy) is a killing machine who has been indoctrinated from age nine and prepared for his act by the time he is 12” says a Pakistani intelligence official who showed the video clip to CBS News as just one piece of evidence of Al Qaeda and the Taliban training young boys to become accomplished killers, even before they become teen-agers.

This video has been captured by Pakistan’s military troops during their operations in the country’s semi autonomous tribal areas, as they went from village to village, searching for militant sanctuaries.

In the village of Spinkai-Roghzai where a group of journalists including CBS News were taken by Pakistan’s military on Sunday in the Waziristan tribal region, officials showed debris of what is described as a suicide training ‘nursery’. Under a pile of bricks lay the remains of an oil extracting factory which was a cover for training young boys to become ideologically charged up.

“There is no harm in taking ‘jehad’ (holy war) for the right cause” read the sign board in a training class, documented in yet another Pakistani intelligence video, secretly captured ahead of the operation, through the use of hidden cameras inserted around the front compound of the school. A teacher, who wrapped himself up to his face with a piece of cloth, pointed towards a list of “recommendations for students” while surrounded by teenagers, urging them to embrace virtues such as “accept the way forward through sacrifice” and “accept that laying down your life for the right cause is not a waste”.

I guess we can recognize this act as an act of terrorism since we have gotten so good at it ourselves under the guise of war. We have committed so many atrocities on behalf of the nut cases like bush cheney and mcSame.

And you wonder why is it that a soldier can kill women and children? To turn your back on them is to risk death.

As far as I''m Concerned THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE anymore between the 2 parties. They BOTH are just being used by the UBER-WEALTHY to WIDEN THAT WEALTH GAP and take us back to the DARK AGES.

Smoke and mirrors from BOTH major political parties to CONTROL SMALL MINDS like YOURS downislam IS the REAL PROBLEM in America.

In the MEANTIME the DROP in HOUSING VALUE Is the BIGGEST DROP since it''s been tracked.

Firstly this is NOT Bush''s war. This was a war which was given to us many years back and we IGNORED IT. Now we have to fight what we have...thanks to the previous administrations who cow towed to these drag queens with *** on their heads twisted too tight. It is time you and MANY more Americans and the Western civilization in general start to comprehend the fight we are in. Much like we ignored hitler boy we ignored the islamic pigs which fought under or with the nazi''s.

Sadly, this is more common than most people realize. When my son was serving in Iraq over three years ago, his unit captured 3 people responsible for the beheadings taking place in their area. It was two boys, 12 and 13, along with their uncle. The worst part of the story is the crudely-made ''weapon'' they were using wasn''t much sharper than a butter knife. It consisted of a blade about 18" in length with both ends tied off for ''handles''. It''s the accounts like this that has made this war so difficult for our troops: who can they trust when even young kids are killers? How can they attempt to protect an innocent child not knowing if s/he has been trained to kill?

ISLAMIC BOYS ARE TRAINED FROM THE TIME THEY ARE BORN TO KILL THE "INFIDELS" AKA NON-MUSLIMS. THEIR PARENTS AND THEIR SOCIETY / CULTURE SET THEM UP FOR A LIFE OF VIOENCE FROM THE BEGINNING. LISTEN TO WHAT EX-MUSLIMS HAVE TO SAY AND THEY WILL TELL YOU THAT THESE KIDS ARE "BRAINWASHED" FROM THE TIME THEY ARE BORN TO DO THIS SORT OF THING. THAT IS WHY THE VIOLENCE IN THE MIDDLE-EAST NEVER ENDS...BECAUSE THE ADULTS PERPETUATE THIS INSANITY.

Pakistan, Taliban Deal A "Victory For bin Laden And al Qaeda": US Officials

Huffington Post | May 21, 2008 01:31 PM

ABC News reports that some U.S. officials are calling the new peace deal between Pakistan and pro-Taliban militants a "victory for Osama bin Laden and al Qaida":

Pakistan''s new government has signed a peace deal with pro-Taliban militants, in what some U.S. officials call a "victory for Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda."

Under the terms of the 15-point plan, signed Wednesday in the city of Peshawar, the Pakistani army will withdraw thousands of troops deployed to the Swat Valley region, an area where officials believe local Taliban militants are hiding. The militants have promised to stop suicide bomb attacks and hand over any foreign militants, according to Bashir Bilour, a senior minister of Pakistan''s Northwest Frontier Province.

"While the deal sounds good, it''s likely to be implemented badly," said Richard Clarke, an ABC News consultant and former White House counterterrorism chief. "What this means is that the United States will continue to be threatened by an al Qaeda that has a safe haven where it can attract people from around the world, be trained and equipped and sent out to the United States and other countries around the world."

A Taliban spokesman, Muslim Khan, told ABCNews.com, "We accept the writ of the state and will no longer challenge it."

I%u2019ll ask again: Do you hate Muslims as much as radical Islamist hate Christians?

The real horror today is what you see in the three great Western religions when the Jews, Muslims and Christians have 3 different names for the same Biblical God, they can%u2019t get along with each other because each is stuck in their metaphor.

Every religion is true in this sense: it is true as metaphorical of the human mystery. But when it gets stuck to the metaphor (and ignore the message), then you are in trouble.

-Joseph Campbell

In other words, we need to focus on the messge of faith rather than getting stuck on validating or critizing another cultures faith.
