(CBS)  The countdown to the wedding of Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson is on.

The bride-to-be celebrated with a bachelorette party Thursday night thrown by her mom, Tina and sister Jessica, E! News reports.

The event was held at the home of the bride's parents in suburban Encino, Calif. Only a dozen or so close family and friends attended the low-key party that began early in the evening.

Ashlee's fiancé spent the time dining out with his pals and his future father-in-law Joe Simpson. The group went to eatery Mr. Chow's where sources told E! that the beer and wine were in steady supply. The $1,000 check was reportedly paid by Simpson.

The wedding is rumored to be taking place on Saturday in Los Angeles.

They Promised The Moon, The Stars, And Heaven Above. And just like Charlie Brown I got a rock.

As a songwriter who''s parents were songwriters, like them I write because I love it. It''s never been about the money. But when the NUMBER ONE SHOW ON TELEVISION says they''re looking for some amateur to write the Next Great American Idol Finale Song. Wow! The first thing that crossed my mind was.....MILLIONS! Millions of people. Millions of cd''s. Millions of dollars. Millions. I''m betting I''m not the only one.......of Millions.

It''s Time For Some Answers!
This is the second year in a row that American Idol has had a songwriting contest. Since the contest ended last year I''ve researched the contestants from last year and this year....FYI there were over 25,000 entries last year at $10.00 for each song. 20 songs were then chosen out of the 25,000 for an online vote. The winner''s song is then performed on the American Idol Finale. The problem I have is that one of THIS years Top 20 Songwriting Finalist is a Co-writer of LAST years Top 20 Songwriting Winner. Somebody from American Idol has some explaining to do.

If you want proof of fraud.

There''s a lot more.

By the way....Why aren''t you reporting this?

The only celeb news I enjoy is seeing them get divorced. I love that. I give this four years. She''ll realize she made a big mistake after 3 years but due to depression & inertia, she won''t file for divorce until the 4th year.

Must s u c k to be a woman. They can''t be happy being single. For the long term. They just HAVE to get married. They think that''s the key to eternal happiness. "I''ll fall in love with the perfect man & he''ll make me happy forever!"

Tee hee. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. WHEW.
