53 Illegal Immigrants Freed From Captivity

Alleged Smugglers Held Men, Women, Children In Fortified House, Demanded More Money

(AP)  Fifty-three illegal immigrants found Sunday had been held against their will in a fortified home by suspected smugglers demanding more money, authorities said.

The group of rescued immigrants included two 13-year-old girls, three women and a mentally disabled man. The rest were men, Department of Public Safety spokesman Harold Sanders said.

Authorities began investigating Saturday after getting a tip that immigrants were being held captive. Sanders said the smugglers wanted an average of $2,500 for each person's release.

The single-family home where they were kept had been fortified to prevent escape and weapons were seized at the location. The suspected smugglers also took away the immigrants' shoes so they couldn't run off.

Sanders said five people, all residents of Mexico, were being jailed on charges of extortion, kidnapping, aggravated assault and human smuggling.

Authorities on the scene said the immigrants had little food and water and it was unclear how long they had been held inside the house.

"Because the undocumented aliens are held in fortified rooms and do not have access to watches, clocks, telephones, televisions, etc, so when they are interviewed, many do not have a true sense of time and whether hours, days or weeks have passed." Sanders said.

The rescued immigrants were turned over to U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement.

QuetzalCrist- A follow-up... How do you get this would be murder? I see it as self and national defense. These ILLEGAL ALIEN INVADERS are CRIMINALS! They deserve nothing from America except a bullet in the head and a 3''X6''X6'' hole. No deportation; the ILLEGAL ALIEN INVADERS would just re-offend by sneaking back again. No prison cell; the ILLEGAL ALIEN INVADERS would still be living at the expense of Americans. Many have termed this a "victim-less crime" when, in actuality, every man, woman and child LEGALLY in the United States of America is a victim. Questions have been raised about the ILLEGAL ALIEN INVADER BRATS as well. This could be handled by allowing the parents to renounce the childs citizenship and send the child to their family in whatever country (except OURS).

I advocate keeping these ILLEGAL ALIEN INVADER PARASITES out of OUR country by whatever means necessary. I advocate SHOOTING these ILLEGAL ALIEN INVADERS when they set their first foot on American soil. I advocate PROTECTING OUR COUNTRY from the criminals, the drugs, the gangs, the freeloading ILLEGAL ALIEN INVADERS. I advocate implementing fines against ANYONE who supports ILLEGAL ALIEN INVADERS. This includes HIRING, HOUSING, FEEDING, PROVIDING MEDICAL CARE or ant other way. Start the fines at $250,000.00 for each ILLEGAL ALIEN INVADER supported in ANY way. For a second offense the fine would increase to $500,000.00 per ILLEGAL ALIEN INVADER. A third offense would see the fines increased to $1,000,000.00 and add one year in prison for each ILLEGAL ALIEN INVADER. Make the prison time retro-active to the FIRST time they were caught helping ILLEGAL ALIEN INVADERS. THAT is what I advocate.

So, why not make it multilingual, sure don''t want to insult some group because we only cater to these illegals, let''s see, French, German, Dutch,...etc.

Living in america is cake for these people. we GIVE them everything.... food stamps, free money, housing, medical care, the works... while the working class people of this country work harder to carry the weight for them. and work harder to support themselves and all the illegals that are taking the food off of our tables and medical care away from our children and the people who are supposed to recieve it are looking at a future with no Social Security.
No Medicare and NOTHING we have worked all our lives for.

Only because we have to cater to these illegals. Whatever happened to the time that immigrant had to learn English, Government,History...etc before they could get citizenship? Oh, that''s right, these are not immigrants, these are illegal vermin that need to be eradicated.
