O.J.'s Bail Doubled By Judge
O.J. Simpson's bail has been doubled by a Las Vegas judge after he was imprisoned for allegedly violating his parole by trying to relate a message to a former co-defendant. Jennifer Miller reports.
Mike Gilbert also claims he helped his former friend wiggle out of the murder charges by suggesting how to bloat his hands so they would not fit the notorious bloody gloves.
Gilbert's book, "How I Helped O.J. Get Away With Murder: The Shocking Inside Story of Violence, Loyalty, Regret and Remorse" (Regnery Publishing, 232 pages, $27.95), is due in stores Monday. It was released to The Associated Press in advance.
He said Simpson had smoked pot, took a sleeping pill and was drinking beer when he confided at his Brentwood home weeks after his trial what happened the night of June 12, 1994. Simpson said he went to his ex-wife's condominium, but did not bring a knife with him. Simpson told him Nicole Brown Simpson had one in her hand when she opened the door.
In a soft mumble, Simpson told him: "If she hadn't opened that door with a knife in her hand ... she'd still be alive."
"Nothing more needed to be said," Gilbert writes. "O.J. had confessed to me. There's no doubt in my mind."
Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman were stabbed to death at the entrance to her condominium. The knife was never found.
Simpson's current lawyer Yale Galanter said none of Gilbert's claims are true and that Gilbert is "a delusional drug addict who needs money. He has fallen on very hard times. He is in trouble with the IRS (Internal Revenue Service)."
"I've talked to O.J. about it," said Galanter, who refused to allow Simpson to comment directly because of his upcoming robbery trial in Las Vegas. "This stuff not only didn't occur but it's not factually supported by the evidence."
The name calling and accusations on both sides showed that deep wounds persist.
In a phone interview, Gilbert called Galanter "an ambulance chaser and an enabler and denier for O.J. I know. I used to do the same thing. I understand the game."
He acknowledged he has problems with the Internal Revenue Service which he says were caused by Simpson but said, "I could take a drug test and pass it. I highly doubt that O.J. could."
Gilbert is the second sports memorabilia dealer to write a Simpson book this year. Thomas Riccio, who arranged a Las Vegas memorabilia sale that led to Simpson's armed robbery arrest, penned "Busted" last month.
Simpson himself participated in the controversial book, "If I Did It," which he claimed was not a confession. It was withdrawn by the publisher and eventually released last year by the Goldman family to help satisfy a $33.5 million wrongful death judgment in civil lawsuit after Simpson was acquitted of murder charges in a criminal trial.
Gilbert said he continued to represent Simpson for another decade after the alleged confession, hawking items with his autograph, hiding the profits and helping Simpson shield his possessions so they could not be seized by the Goldman family.
Gilbert also claims that he counseled the jailed Simpson during his murder trial to stop taking his arthritis medicine so his hands would swell up and not fit the bloody gloves in court. He offers no proof Simpson followed his advice or that he was taking any medicine, but the drama that played out in court when the gloves did not fit was central to Simpson's defense.

Bush wins hands down!
Heckuva job, Liar-in-Chief!
I wonder if he hasn''t opened himself up to ''conspiracy to obstruct justice after-the-fact'' charges of some type?! By claiming to have instructed him in how to pass the ''glove test''! He may regret his attempt at this money-making book! I wouldn''t buy it!

LOL....we had 400 years of good teachings!
There is a real psycohlogical danger in living one''s life for audience approval. I imagine O.J. had real
and passionate feelings for Nicole. Assuming this account is accurate,(which it may not be) when Nicole DID open that door with a knife in her and in the company of a younger man, I can understand why O.J. went white heat blind with rage. He likely felt she was treating him like some vermin to be disposed of.
For an excessively proud man like O.J. that would likely be too much insult for his psyche to absorb all at once. I believe he came to a sudden reality that night and he could not accept it. This may be an oversimplification of the incident but it explains to me why it happened on that night the way it did.
She didn''t deserve to die for it, and now he''s branded a murderer. Justice has been served, right or wrong.
Now he got involved with thieves and they''ll all lie about it and make money off of it. Anybody who buys their stupid books...a fool and his money are quickly parted.
He who CHOOSES to associate with freakoids and crooks usually IS a freakoid and crook.

And if by ''men'' you mean pychopathic, deranged lunatics looking to get away with murder, then, yes. You''re correct here.
Give it up people, He has been found innocent and that is that. He should write a new book titled, "I didn''t commit the murders, But I was there to see them executed." As for being an inspiration, yes he is for those with money and want to commit murder and get away with it!
OJ if he did this horrid double murder, will likely rot in you know where for eternity if he is as totally unrepentant as he appears. And if so, I hope Old Man Satan has an especially hot pitchfork to prod him in his rearend forever and ever. Amen.
I am sure there are people who receive a verdict of innocent who are not just as people who receive the verdict of guilty who are not.
Our system of justice tries, but is not always perfect. We can not change it. Let it be.
Right, OJ needs hung by his ba*lls. We all know he did it.

I have a feeling if it was your sister, mother, brother, close friend, etc who was killed you''d feel surprisingly different.

I had to come back to you roger_inkart, just to tell you where I am coming from.
There is nothing this family can do. They "lost" in criminal court, they won in civil court. They are well aware of how murdered their loved one. Thats it.
What do you want for this family ? A life of hate and revenge ? Revenge is not something you can turn on and off like a switch. It usually consumes the person. It is time for this family to be able to move on. They are "alive" and need to live the life they have left. There is nothing more other then trying to collect the money due them that they can do.
I hate to see them living the rest of their lives on something they can not change. It will not bring back the love one they lost. It will only cause them more pain.
If you feel it would not be a waste of your life to be obsessed over some thing you can not change then so be it.
Slimebag Goldman screwed Ron''s Mother out of her share of the Blood Money.

Like the Michael Jackson trial in ''04: a black, probably gay, member of the Hollywierd establishment has to be brought to trial for ''raping'' America''s children. Just in time to hear GW Bush (or McCain, in this case) proclaim his willingness to sign a constitutional amendment making gay marriage illegal. Bush didn''t need to ''sell'' his amendment: Jackson did it for him in the popular press. Jackson was charged with 10 counts of child-rape during the ''04 election cycle: 24-7 celebrity coverage of the trial did the rest. Later, after Bush had won (and quietly disavowed his ''gay marriage'' amendment), Michael Jackson was finally brought to trial: and promptly (after 32 hours of jury deliberation), the charges were dropped: ALL 10 OF THEM!!! NONE of them were worth bringing to the jury (of course, they were worth something to GW Bush, and THAT was the point).
If Obama is the Dem candidate, expect OJ, Jackson 24-7. Expect black males to be so denigrated by ''legitimate'' prosecutions that you''ll wonder if Ossama bin Laden himself isn''t black. Expect Satan himself to be a black male by November.

Yeah, I''ve noticed that. However, I''m comforted that if OJ were tried by an election he would have been overwhealmingly convicted. Obaka locking up the dem nomination is a dream come true... because he''s going to lose in a landslide. Anyone that can''t see that coming would likely be dumb enought to think OJ is innocent.
