Ose Lends Himself Another $200K For June 3 Primary

By John Bresnahan

(The Politico)

Former Rep. Doug Ose (R-Calif.), seeking to return to Congress after a four-year absence, is spending heavily to win a Republican primary against Tom McClintock and two other candidates. The four Republicans are seeking to replace Rep. John Doolittle (R-Calif.), who is retiring after becoming involved in a federal corruption probe over his ties to imprisoned former GOP lobbyist Jack Abramoff.

Ose dumped another $200,000 of his own money into the race, according to a filing today with Federal Election Commission, bringing the total spent by Ose so far to $1.049 million.

Ose, a developer, is locked in a tough battle with McClintock, according to local newspaper reports.

The two other Republican candidates are Ted Terbolizard, a businessman and Suzanne Jones, a lawyer.
