(CBS/AP)  Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton lent her presidential campaign $6.4 million over the past month, CBS News confirmed Wednesday, underscoring the financial advantage held by her rival, Barack Obama.

The money more than doubled Clinton's personal investment in her bid for the Democratic nomination. She gave her campaign $5 million earlier this year.

A campaign aide said Clinton gave her campaign another $5 million on April 11, more than a week before the Pennsylvania primary. She then again dipped into her personal wealth for $1 million last week and $425,000 on Monday, one day before the North Carolina and Indiana primaries. She has lent herself 11.42 million total for the campaign.

Clinton's campaign reported raising $10 million online after her Pennsylvania victory on April 22. Evidently, the money was not enough and her fundraising was unable to keep up with her expenses heading into Tuesday's contests.

Moreover, Obama has routinely outspent her in primary after primary and has shown little difficulty tapping his vast network of donors. He spent more than $7 million on advertising head of Tuesday's primaries in North Carolina and Indiana to her nearly $4 million.

According to the latest campaign finance reports filed with the Federal Election Commission, Obama began the month of April with $42 million in the bank for the primary to Clinton's $9.3 million.

But Clinton had debts of $10.3 million at the start of the month, much of it money owed to her main polling, phone banking and advertising consultants.

Another thing to keep in mind as Hillary is using millions of her own funds for her campaign.
Obama has received many more millions of dollars from millions of voters that want to see him as president.

I am one of those small contributors, $10.00 at a time, twice so far. This speaks volumes and shows just how much support Obama has.

Now, my only concern is that Obama should NOT select Hillary as his running mate. I do not want to see any Clintons back in the White House for any reason.

Considering the fact that she and Bill made over 110 million dollars between them in annual income last year, I guess she can afford it. By the way, isn''t Hillary''s running flatform based on common working-class ethic? I don''t know what''s so common about making that kind of money and then accusing your opponent of being a snob. That''s the pot calling the kettle black, in my book.

Time to get out, Billary! Do so now, with grace, and Barack''s campaign will pick-up your deficit, provided you work ... work, I said ... to elect Barack this fall.

If Hillary would give a *** about the party and the county she would call it a day.
She is just another selfish politician!!!!

Regardless of whether Hillary or Obama becomes the nominee, either one will make an infinitely better President than GWB. After all, both have demonstrated that they, unlike the Scarecrow and the Decider-In-Chief, do indeed have a brain.

When the real campaigns begin after the conventions, it will quickly become apparent that McCain has absolutely nothing to run on except that he was a prisoner of war. McCain will, in the end, carry Arizona,Utah, and maybe Kansas.

Silence can be a good thing, especially if it''''s Floridians who truly need to be silenced. CA, FL, MI, PA, OH, MA, NY are a must........and, although I like Obama, he hasn''''t won the most critical blue states....

Good Point - but really very USELESS - Beacause none of these states will never ever vote for any kind of REPUG ..... These states are as Blue as they come, and now McCain is also scared, due to the numbers that had came out for the Dems in these states - It was on a 5 to 1 Dem to Repug ratio. Most Americans really can''t wait till November and a lot don''t seem to care about pools - now it''s more about saying any ***** but knowing exactly who you''ll be voting for, when we do come around to it. Cheers!

Hillary should not burn more money, except her goal is to help Republic in the general race.

Anyway, even the wall street group behind her is sure that they will take big risk if they continue to publicly manipulate the media to attack Obama.

Hillary and Bill, you already work for Wall Street for so many years and get 100 millions from them. It is retirement time to enjoy the life. Please not be a chess handled by Wall Street any more!!

Hillary, get out NOW and start helping to re-unite the democratic party... immediately. BTW, here''''s what i think is also dispicable... she loaned her campaign her own money, but she is raising money to pay herself back... *WITH INTEREST* no doubt. In any event, her donating $$ to herself is a lost cause. It should be evident where the people are putting their support... OBAMA.

Brimming with unabashed arrogance and a numerical argument that have been clearly flawed, Senator Clinton has been asked to withdraw regardless that it has been repeatedly said that neither candidate can accrue enough pledged delegates to win the nomination. That "Clinton and Obama remain statistically tied with John McCain in matchups" further repudiates Leahy''s rationale, arguments rife with cynicism, Richardson''s hubris, and Ms. Pelosi''s posturing which is helping the GOP exponentially, it''s sad. Silence can be a good thing, especially if it''s Floridians who truly need to be silenced. CA, FL, MI, PA, OH, MA, NY are a must........and, although I like Obama, he hasn''t won the most critical blue states....

If he gets the nomination, come out with your own Labor party, and win it anyway!!!

For the first time in my life I am NOT PROUD of my party''s manipulation and lies!

It''s either a new Labor Party, or McCain is it for another four years. At least McCain''s an American who has sacrificed for this country and is better than Bush!

Obama is a whack job anti-American who has NEVER done anything for this country except play corrupt Chicago political games with freakoids!
