(CBS/AP)  Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton lent her presidential campaign $6.4 million over the past month, CBS News confirmed Wednesday, underscoring the financial advantage held by her rival, Barack Obama.

The money more than doubled Clinton's personal investment in her bid for the Democratic nomination. She gave her campaign $5 million earlier this year.

A campaign aide said Clinton gave her campaign another $5 million on April 11, more than a week before the Pennsylvania primary. She then again dipped into her personal wealth for $1 million last week and $425,000 on Monday, one day before the North Carolina and Indiana primaries. She has lent herself 11.42 million total for the campaign.

Clinton's campaign reported raising $10 million online after her Pennsylvania victory on April 22. Evidently, the money was not enough and her fundraising was unable to keep up with her expenses heading into Tuesday's contests.

Moreover, Obama has routinely outspent her in primary after primary and has shown little difficulty tapping his vast network of donors. He spent more than $7 million on advertising head of Tuesday's primaries in North Carolina and Indiana to her nearly $4 million.

According to the latest campaign finance reports filed with the Federal Election Commission, Obama began the month of April with $42 million in the bank for the primary to Clinton's $9.3 million.

But Clinton had debts of $10.3 million at the start of the month, much of it money owed to her main polling, phone banking and advertising consultants.

THAT''s why she asked for more contributions in her speech yesterday. To get her money back.

Clinton supporters should say, that there money was only a loan also--and she can expect to pay all of them back, before she pays herself back. if she is so sure of what she is doing, why "lend" her campaign the money? Invest in yourself HRC--GIVE your campaign the money--then do the honorable thing and pay all of your creditors.

She had her chance to step aside for the good of the party, but she apparently has decided that her blind ambition trumps that. Now it''s become obvious that the only reason she''s staying in the race, since she knows she can''t overtake Obama, is to do as much damage to the Democratic party as possible to make sure McCain wins in the fall, so she can run again in 2012. She has given up the last shred of dignity and is now just lashing out like a spoiled child. She should be ashamed of herself and she should be kicked out of the Democratic party.

Hillary Clinton has raised more then $198 million dollars for her campaign and yet is $15 million in debt.

This goes to show why she is unfit to be President.
$15 million in debt and she claims to have passed the Steward of the Economy test.

But Hillary made LOANS to her campaign and now she will want that money repaid so all you Hillary Supporters like RowdyTexan, you better increase your donations to Hillarys campaign.

But please remember Hillary will get ALL her money back, because its a LOAN; you however will only have your memories and a smaller bank balance.

Hillary relies on suckers like you to GIVE your money, while she cleverly LOANS hers.

When this is over she will have a bath in 100 dollar bills because all her 110 million dollar fortune is still there ! But don%u2019t worry she will be thinking of you and your kind donations !

Hillary LOST BOTH states!!!. The 22000 margin she got in Indiana is far less than votes she got from cross-over republicans intended to prolong the fight.

BTW, too bad that Obama does not want to engage in a negative campaign. He could have shown the Hillary Bosnia lie footage over and ever again as she did to him on his %u201Cbitter%u201D comments. If he did, she would be crushed a long time ago.

(psssst: It might still be a good idea to send Clinton $0.01 for her campaign, on the off chance that the "business as usual" crowd throws the nomination her way.

She is spending like a madwoman to buy the Presidency, and should she succeed in buying the Presidency or have it bought for her, being on her donor list might save you from being the "''em" in "Screw ''em".)

I remember when Paul Tsongas dropped out, for running out of funds.

If I were to vote SOLELY based on how they''d run the country based on how they financed their campaigns, Clinton and McCain would be out. We need to make inroads on repaying the debt, which would only improve things for our country AND the world.

However, that doesn''t mean a person going overboard with wanting the job automatically meaning, should they get elected, they''d be just as overzealous.

I also disagree with the idea she will wreck things, solely to run again in 2012. That simply makes no sense; if she genuinely was ruining things now, would not people remember in 2012 and not vote based on that perception?

We still have obligations to the world such as feeding those in Africa and many other endeavors, but we shouldn''t ignore our own either.

I asked my self why Bill & Hill Clinton were not the same persons that I supported for so many years. These people are very savy politicos. I believe that they knew they had no chance and I believe that they saw the greater good to build our party. These primaries have raised more money, registered thousands of new Democrats and gave us exposure that is priceless to get our message out. I want to believe that the Clintons did what they did for patriotic reasons and to make sure that our party succeeds this time. I hope I am right because this will allow me to forgive them for some of their tactics.

I don''t want to say I told you so....

Call me ''old school'', but I believe that a candidate should run on NO money. Let the government divide the $3.00 a piece(since they say that it won''t effect our return anyway) split it up between the foes and let them battle it out! When the monies are gone, oh well!
It would insure that everything would be equal accross the board.

Obviously, Mrs. Clintons ''hillrithmatics'' forgot to add in the x=HRP. H. Ross Perot. Money doesn''t buy a presidency.

If she were really concerned about our troops or hunger or abused women or single moms or housing, I can think of dozens of charities that would love to have a fraction of the $11.5 million she has spent on her own inflated ego, let alone some of all the money she and her hypocrite of a husband have made over the last few years.

Barack Obama is urbane enough to accept the challenge while still gaining experience.

Clearly he is the only candidate offering a breath of potentially fresh political vitality.

Nice to read folks are already referring to %u201CThe Obamainator%u201D as the electable candidate.

Historically no candidate has ever been perfect, no matter how polished or experienced they appeared to the voters of the day.

Today%u2019s voters are becoming more discerning.

Thankfully the same old %u201Cpolitical Playdough%u201D recipes are simply not going to cut it anymore. We the people are starting to have our voice; again in national affairs.

Perhaps voters are truly aspiring and optimistic for change. We can only do our part one vote at a time while fulfilling our most fundamental contribution to a democracy.

Most would agree its time for real political transformation. The proverbial thin line between genius and radical may need to be straddled to achieve great things.

Both image and substance of national politics and policy is increasingly losing touch with the common citizen and common sense. US must signify a better place for us, all of us.

Which candidate appears to have the oomph and catalyst to bring something different to the forefront?

I voted for Bill twice and would probably still be voting for him if not for the 22nd amendment. I too want to believe they think they''re doing the right thing for the country and the party, but as she drags this war out day after day it becomes more obvious that they''ve placed her ambition over everything else.

McCain = The Same

Grandpa Factor: All Moderate Republicans & Independent Thinking Republicans, The Independents, The Middle Age & Younger Voters (Of All Race) will Not Vote For ..

Grandpa McCain !!

1. The Middle Aged will Not Vote for McCain, because their 25 Yrs. Close to being Him and they Have Children in a 20 Billion $ Per Month Farce Of a War, in Iraq & Afghanistan !!

2. The 30 yr old dont want a 72 yr old War Mongering, lets Stay in 20 Billion $ Per Month Farce Of a War in Iraq & Afghanistan !!

3. High School College Kids: 20 -18 Yr old, regardless of their Race will Not Vote for McCain, because they dont want to be in that 20 Billion per Month Iraq & Afghanistan Farce of a War...Period

4. McCain Voted for the 20 Billion $ War in Iraq & Afghanistan and says we will stay there as longas it takes, 100 Yrs if we have to. Mccain made his Biggest Blunder and shows his Lack of Coherent Thinking, McCain shouldve waited to make such a statement, but During the primaries, he cant Distance himself from those Words Spoken...He Cant !!

5. Youth will Prevail, Color will be of No Importance, Religion will Not... But a 46 yr old man, that Looks like a 36 Yr old man, facing a 72 yr old GrandPa will be a Physical Mix Match, more glaring than the Kennedy & Nixon Face To Face...McCain wants Hillary...Not a Face Off with Obama..Believe It !!

Loaning money to your own campaign is not like borrowing bait to go fishing. If you catch fish, who will the fish really belong to? Some, who catch fish will share their catch with the one who loaned them the bait. Others, wont share their catch at all. Still others will return the bait... and others will return the bait and share some of the catch.

So, I guess if you loaned yourself some bait for your own fishing event, and paid it back, you give yourself the benefit and charged yourself the interest for it.

What would you rather do, go fishing? or go campaigning? Different strokes for different folks.

(AP) Former Sen. George McGovern, who backed Hillary Rodham Clinton, is urging her to drop out of the Democratic presidential race.

McGovern said Wednesday he has decided to endorse Barack Obama.

After watching the returns from the North Carolina and Indiana primaries Tuesday night, McGovern says it''s virtually impossible for Clinton to win the nomination.

McGovern says he is calling former President Clinton to tell him of the decision and adds that he remains close friends with the Clintons.

Brimming with unabashed arrogance and a numerical argument that is clearly flawed, Senator Clinton has been asked to withdraw regardless that it has been repeatedly said that neither candidate can accrue enough pledged delegates to win the nomination. That "Clinton and Obama remain statistically tied with John McCain in matchups" further repudiates Leahy''s rationale, arguments rife with cynicism, Richardson''s hubris, and Ms. Pelosi''s posturing which is helping the GOP exponentially, it''s sad. Silence can be a good thing, especially if it''s Floridians who truly need to be silenced. BTW, here''s what i think is also dispicable... she loaned her campaign her own money, but she is raising money to pay herself back... *WITH INTEREST* no doubt. So she is, in effect, increasing her weath by loaning $$ to her own campaign. There should be a law against that. I wonder what the interest rate is.

In any event, her donating $$ to herself is a lost cause. It should be evident where the people are putting their support... OBAMA.

Anyway, even the wall street group behind her is sure that they will take big risk if they continue to publicly manipulate the media to attack Obama.

Good Point - but really very USELESS - Beacause none of these states will never ever vote for any kind of REPUG ..... These states are as Blue as they come, and now McCain is also scared, due to the numbers that had came out for the Dems in these states - It was on a 5 to 1 Dem to Repug ratio. Most Americans really can''t wait till November and a lot don''t seem to care about pools - now it''s more about saying any ***** but knowing exactly who you''ll be voting for, when we do come around to it. Cheers!

Regardless of whether Hillary or Obama becomes the nominee, either one will make an infinitely better President than GWB. After all, both have demonstrated that they, unlike the Scarecrow and the Decider-In-Chief, do indeed have a brain.

When the real campaigns begin after the conventions, it will quickly become apparent that McCain has absolutely nothing to run on except that he was a prisoner of war. McCain will, in the end, carry Arizona,Utah, and maybe Kansas.

Considering the fact that she and Bill made over 110 million dollars between them in annual income last year, I guess she can afford it. By the way, isn''t Hillary''s running flatform based on common working-class ethic? I don''t know what''s so common about making that kind of money and then accusing your opponent of being a snob. That''s the pot calling the kettle black, in my book.
