Cornyn In A Tight Race
(The Politico)
According to a new Rasmussen poll out today, Sen John Cornyn (R-TX) is just four points ahead of his Democratic challenger Rick Noriega despite his significant financial edge. Corynyn is likely suffering from his close alignment with President Bush. The poll also found that just 39% of Texans think Bush is doing a "good or excellent job," compared to 45% who think his performance is "poor." Cornyn has also has had some issues over his long-standing ties with controversial televangelist John Hagee, although he told reporters last month, "I'm really not concerned that it'll become an issue."
