"EMC2" has made its debut at the pinnacle of the national charts.
SoundScan reports the album sold 463,000 copies in the U.S. during its first week in stores.
And that makes it Carey's biggest sales week ever. Carey's last album made its debut at number one.
In all, Carey has six number one albums, tying her with Madonna and Janet Jackson for the second most number-one albums among female acts. Only Barbra Streisand, with eight, has more.Photos: Curvy, No Apologies
