The papers were filed on March 26 in New York Supreme Court in Manhattan where they were marked as an "Uncontested Matrimonial" case by the court, and the records were sealed, ET says.
"Several years ago I made an error in judgment by inviting the media into the most intimate area of my life. A month ago, I filed for divorce," Jones told ET in a statement. "The dissolution of a marriage is a difficult time in anyone's life that requires privacy with one's thoughts. I have committed myself to handling this situation with dignity and grace and look forward to emerging from this period as a stronger and wiser woman."
Sources close to Jones say her filing came after much soul-searching, and that she feels she had to do it to be happy, Lara Spencer of "The Insider" reported on The Early Show Thursday.Photos: The Hate List
But Spencer says, "Nobody's talking on this one," though sources note, "There's no animosity, perhaps because there (supposedly) is an air-tight pre-nup agreement."
Reynolds, 39, and Jones were married in a lavish ceremony in New York on Nov. 13, 2004. Jones was criticized for talking incessantly about her wedding plans and plugging the event's sponsors on "The View" in the months leading up to the nuptials.
She appeared on the ABC chat fest as a co-host from 1997 through June 2006, when she left to start her own show on Court TV. The show was taken off the air in February after the cable network morphed into truTV. She is also the author of two books.Photos: Celebrity Splits

- Star will die alone in a trailer in a vacant lot in Compton. They''ll find her 6 weeks later. One of her 50 cats will have eaten her face.

- Everyone who couldn''t see this coming, please raise your hands.
She trashed the wedding by all the gimmies and publicity, why doesn''t she sell advertising space to all the ambulance chasing lawyers out there on her divorce program, similar to the wedding programs that are handed out at the church nowadays.
Good one, Briansgirl2 - he just wasn''t the "marrying kind" at least not to HER kind... - Reply to this comment
- Well, having been thru divorce myself, I know how trying this is for her. However, I think she set herself up by trying to keep up with her "schedule" of getting married by the time she was "40". Stevie Wonder could see that the guy was gay!!!

- Marriage takes a commitment, she has no history of committing to anything but herself and food.

- Thought the guy was gay. But it takes a super-heterosexual to get with her. What a funny lookin'' woman. Fat or not.

- Is she gonna get fat again?

- I''m stunned. Star is very modest. Hardly any ego. Very easy to please. Not full of herself at all. Oh no.
I should have been a divorce lawyer. License tp print megabucks 24-7. Business never slows down.
The wedding is all that matters. All the hype. Me, Me, Me. Attention must be paid. "This wedding is not about anyone but ME! Pleasing ME! What I want! Do you hear?! Hey, little man messing with my flowers. Who are you? These flowers are dying. You''re fired!" The annual GNP of Brazil spent on catering to Star''s every whim.
Women live for their wedding day. BORDERS bookstore carries more than 20 wedding magazines. All thick. Bursting with all the details that women obsess over.
I''m surprised the poor sucker was able to put up with Star for 3 weeks let alone 3 1/2 years of married bliss. - Reply to this comment
- That didn''t last long, did it? Once the cameras panned off her close up she lost interest. Her 15 minutes of fame were over 15 miutes ago. What''s next, Dunkin Donuts ads, then Jenny Craig Diet?

- ah! What a burn! That is what you get for thinking you know someone so well and pretend to have such a flawless wedding and invite the world to watch. Oh, a "quiet" divorce? Ya, it''s all over CBSnews.com, and this, and Yahoo....
