TiVo Gets Another Patent Win; DISH Network To Take It To Supreme Court

(PaidContent.org)  This story was written by Joseph Weisenthal.
TiVo (NSDQ: TIVO) has won another round The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in Washington, D.C has denied EchoStar (NSDQ: DISH) a rehearing of its loss to TiVo from back in January. A lower court had ruled that EchoStar must pay TiVo $73 million for infringing on its "Time Warp" patent. The Appeals Court reaffirmed the full lower court ruling, including the damages. But it's not over just yet. DISH Network, the EchoStar spin-off, says it will appeal to the Supreme Court. Of course, there's no guarantee that the top court will hear the case, but it's their last option. In the meantime, it claims that it has already figured out and delivered a non-infringing workaround, so its customers won't experience an interruption. TiVo Statement. | DISH Statement
