(CBS/AP) Gossip maven Perez Hilton will soon be dishing it up on the airwaves as well as in the blogosphere.
The celebrity blogger, whose real name is Mario Lavandeira, will be the star of twice-daily radio minishows, The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday on its Web site.
The radio show, which debuts May 5, is just one more of several recently announced ventures the busy blogger is managing to fit into his schedule.
"Yes, (the debut) is on Cinco de Mayo." Hilton confirmed to The ShowBuzz. "I am making the time!"
The three-minute-long radio shows will air during morning and evening drive times in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago and other big cities, with more markets planned for the next few months, the paper reported.Photos: Celebrity Circuit
The show, "Radio Perez," represents another step toward media ubiquity for the blogger, whose Web site routinely posts salacious details about gossip targets such as Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan.
A film featuring Hilton is due out this summer and a book by the blogger is in the works. Warner Bros. Records and Hilton are also reportedly negotiating a development deal that would make him an executive on the label.
"Radio Perez" is the first offering from the newly established "C" Student Entertainment Corp., the Journal reported. The company was created by former Premiere Radio Networks chief Steve Lehman and Andy Schuon, former head of programming at MTV and other cable stations and at Infinity Broadcasting, now CBS Radio.
E-mails seeking comment from Schuon early Wednesday were not immediately returned. No phone listing was available for "C" Student Entertainment.
