Senior Broadcast Producer, CBS Evening News With Katie Couric

(CBS)  Chris Dinan was named senior broadcast producer of the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric in September 2007. He is the second-in-command to executive producer Rick Kaplan.

Before that, Dinan was the broadcast producer for the program (2000-07), as well as a producer (1998-2000). He was a producer for CBS This Morning (1996-98) and the CBS Morning News (1994-96), and worked as a writer and editor at CBS This Morning (1992-94). Dinan joined CBS News in 1987 as a desk assistant for CBS Radio News.

He is an Emmy Award-winning producer and has been involved in CBS News' coverage of virtually every major news event in the past two decades, including the Virginia Tech shootings, the Oklahoma City bombing, the explosion of TWA flight 800, the hunt and capture of the Unabomber and an extended series of CBS Evening News broadcasts in the weeks following the attacks of Sept. 11. Dinan has also produced coverage from Iraq on two trips, as well as numerous hurricanes and their aftermaths.

He was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
