Blige Congratulates Jay-Z & Beyonce
(CBS)
Mary J. Blige dedicated a song to her tour mate Jay-Z and singer Beyonce Knowles Saturday night, but the rapper stayed mum about whether or not the couple tied the knot the night before.
At a concert stop at the Greensboro, N.C., Blige told the audience "Congratulations to my man, Jay-Z, and my girl, B," before dedicating her song "You're All I Need" to the couple, the New York Daily News reports.
All Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, had to offer during his set were a few improvised notes from his hit duet with Knowles, "Crazy In Love."
Carter smiled and stayed quiet, and then Blige exclaimed, "But, Dave, I'm already married!"
Lara Spencer of "The Insider" told The Early Show Monday that Saint-Tropez in the south of France is one of the couple's favorite vacation spots.
"That's where a lot of people are guessing they might show up," she said.
Signs of preparations started early Friday as paparazzi and fans gathered outside the building where Carter reportedly has a penthouse loft apartment.
Gossip sites showed photos of orchids being delivered to the building and a tent set up on what was said to be the balcony of Carter's home.
E! News quoted the owner of Amy's Orchids in Thailand as saying her company shipped orchids to New York for Knowles' and Carter's wedding Friday. A designer in the city used 60,000 orchids to create "eight-foot garlands that hung down from the ceiling to make the location look like an orchid palace."
2 Guests began to arrive in the evening, with paparazzi making it difficult for the revelers' Mercedes and SUVs to make their way into the building's garage. Actress Gwyneth Paltrow, a friend of Knowles, was photographed arriving at the scene.
Rumors of a wedding began earlier in the week when People.com reported that - according to an unnamed source - Knowles, 26, and Carter, filed for a marriage license in the village of Scarsdale, N.Y.
On April Fool's Day, no less.
The Scarsdale county clerk did not return requests for comment to The Showbuzz. Knowles' publicist had "no comment" on the matter.
The couple have been dating for five years.

Blige and Carter were guests on "The Late Show With David Letterman" Friday night, but Letterman was unable to get Carter to divulge any wedding plans. In the segment, taped earlier in the week, Letterman teased Blige and Carter about making a nice couple.

If Carter and Knowles did indeed get married, it may be a while before they can go on a honeymoon. The rapper is scheduled to be on his Heart of the City tour with Blige until it wraps in Uncaseville, Conn. on May 8, with only a few days break between concerts in Oakland and Detroit later this month.
