Al Qaeda's No. 2 Defends Deadly Attacks

In Response To Online Questions, Al-Zawahiri Says Terrorist Organization Doesn't Kill Innocents

(AP)  Al Qaeda No. 2 Ayman al-Zawahiri responded to criticism Wednesday about the organization's notoriously brutal tactics, maintaining that it does not kill innocents, in an hour-and-a half-long audio response to questions submitted to the movement on extremist Web sites.

The audio message, which was accompanied by a 46-page English transcript, was the first installment of answers to a raft of online questions and focused mainly on future al Qaeda efforts elsewhere in the region, particularly Egypt.

"We haven't killed the innocents, not in Baghdad nor in Morocco, nor in Algeria, nor anywhere else," he said according to the English transcript which, like the audio message, appeared on Web sites linked to the group.

The answer was in response to the question "excuse me, Mr. Zawahiri, but who is it who is killing with Your Excellency's blessing the innocents in Baghdad, Morocco and Algeria?"

Al Qaeda has taken credit for the destruction of the World Trade Center which killed nearly 3,000 people in New York City in 2001, while its affiliates in Iraq, Afghanistan and Algeria regularly set off explosives in crowded urban areas that have taken thousands of lives.

"If there is any innocent who was killed in the Mujahideen's operations, then it was either an unintentional error or out of necessity," Zawahiri added.

He went on to say that it was their opponents who killed innocents and also noted that "the enemy intentionally takes up positions in the midst of the Muslims for them to be human shields for him."

Zawahiri reassured many of the questioners, who seemed worried about the direction of the organization, that the global jihad was on track and would soon expand elsewhere.

"I expect the Jihadi influence to spread after the Americans' exit from Iraq, and to move towards Jerusalem," he said to those asking when attacks on Israel would take place.

He also predicted the end of the Saudi state, which is "swimming against the tide of history" and the government of his native Egypt, which he called a "corrupt, rotten regime (that) cannot possibly continue."

Many of the questions he chose to answer focused on restarting the jihad in Egypt, which Zawahiri himself helped begin and was crushed by the government in the 1990s.

"The days will reveal to you what you didn't know, and news will come to you from those who didn't have it," he said quoting an old Arabic proverb, about when the jihad would begin again in Egypt, and counseled patience.

Egypt's plainclothes State Security officers and uniformed police were declared "permissible to kill" in the struggle for Egypt and he hinted that he had supporters in the Egyptian army, like the man who assassinated former Egyptian President Anwar Sadat in 1981.

"The Egyptian army which produced Khalid al-Islambouli ... continues to be full of those whose hearts boil with jealousy for Islam and Muslims and who long for the opportunity to remove the corrupt gang which rules Egypt," he said.

Though the tape could not be independently verified, the message bore the logo of the Al Qaeda's media arm, al-Sahab, and appeared on Web sites linked to the organization.

Al-Zawahiri said he chose around 100 questions to answer.

Al-Sahab announced in December that al-Zawahiri would take questions from the public posted on Islamic militant Web sites and would respond "as soon as possible."

Zawahiri also addressed the issue of al Qaeda's founder, Osama bin Laden, assuring supporters that the reclusive leader was in good health.

"Sheik Osama bin Laden is healthy and well, by the grace of Allah," he said, while noting he would not be there forever. "He must die one day, whereas Allah's religion will remain."

Let''s examine this absurd article, shall we?

First off, we will note that this article has no author associated with it, as is typical for BS "al-Qaeda" reports, like this one.

Re: "Al Qaeda No. 2 Ayman al-Zawahiri responded to criticism Wednesday... in an hour-and-a half-long audio response to questions submitted to the movement on extremist Web sites."

Really?

What is the URL for any of these Web sites?

Where is the transcript?

Why is "al-Qaeda" allowed to maintain Web sites?

Why aren''t the IP addresses of those who contribute to these Web sites traced and investigated, to find out who these people are, and to arrest them, if they are involved in any criminal activity?

Re: "...according to the English transcript which, like the audio message, appeared on Web sites linked to the group."

Which Web sites are they referring to?

What are these "links", and who "linked" them?

Re: "Al Qaeda has taken credit for the destruction of the World Trade Center which killed nearly 3,000 people in New York City in 2001"

Actually, they have not taken credit for this. The only "link" to this claim is a video tape, supposedly found laying around on the floor somewhere, in some house in Afghanistan. The man in the tape knid of looks like "Osama", but if you compare the image to previous photos of bin Laden, it is obviously NOT him.

See for yourself:

http://newsnet14.com/images/fake-osama_01.jpg

It''s not him, unless he had one hell of a nose-job.

That is probably why Osama is not wanted for the attacks of 9/11/01, by the FBI.

Re: "while its affiliates in Iraq...regularly set off explosives in crowded urban areas that have taken thousands of lives."

There has been no conclusive evidence provided of this, and there is every reason to believe that "al-Qaeda-in-Iraq" is an imaginary group.

The U.S. and Israel are the 2 most likely beneficiaries of these bombings, and are most likely to have been responsible for them.

Re: "the enemy intentionally takes up positions in the midst of the Muslims for them to be human shields for him."

The only group that we know of, FOR SURE, with a chronic policy of hiding behind "human shields", are the Israelis- proven, beyond a shadow of a doubt, before their own Supreme Court.

www.adalah.org/newsletter/eng/oct05/1.php

They often attempt to attribute this cowardly practice to their adversaries, as a pathetic excuse to justify their own crimes and atrocities, and always without any substantial support.

Re: "Zawahiri reassured many of the questioners, who seemed worried about the direction of the organization"

Even if we are to take these fake tapes seriously, if "al-Qaeda" operatives have to ask "Zawahiri" where to attack next, and how to attack them, over the Internet no less, then this group obviously does not have anything resembling a sophisticated and coordinated global network, and they are not much of a threat.

If they are dumb enough to strategize on the Internet, then they are a joke, and they should be very, very easy to counter and contain.

Isn''t it interesting? We have two al Qaeda brothers...one is busy fielding questions from SITE groupies as a faux-foe of the US, while the other al Qaeda brother is working under the protection of the United States for an INTERPOL named narco-terrorist organization--the Kosovo Liberation Army.

Because it is obviously another fake.

Re: "...the message bore the logo of the Al Qaeda''s media arm, al-Sahab, and appeared on Web sites linked to the organization."

This means that this fake tape was produced at the private U.S. propaganda factory, known as IntelCenter.

Sure he did.

Where are the other 97 questions?

CBS has become worse and a bigger joke that PRAVDA ever was during the cold war. Kill our television. Pay off your debt. Use your tax return to buy junk gold and silver. Use the profits from that to buy soon to be worthless US dollars and pay off your house.

A little plan I call "pay back" since it is the process they used to steal your real money in the first place. Just reverse the process.

Al Qaeda Website Refuses to Die

Michelle Delio 04.07.03 | 2:00 AM

Reader''s advisory: Wired News has been unable to confirm some sources for a number of stories written by this author. If you have any information about sources cited in this article, please send an e-mail to sourceinfo[AT]wired.com.

Repeatedly tossed off the Internet, a website believed to be al Qaeda''s primary online method of communication continues to resurface as an uninvited guest on other websites.

Alneda.com first appeared after the Sept. 11 attacks, hosted by legitimate Internet service providers in Malaysia and the United States who promptly evicted the site after being alerted to its contents and purpose.

Al Neda eventually lost ownership of the Alneda.com domain in August when Jon David Messner, a hacker who runs porn sites, took it over.

But the website formerly known as Alneda.com is still online. For the past eight months, it has functioned as a so-called Internet parasite -- a site that is embedded within another website without the site owner''s knowledge.

AntiZion, Prinzowhales,

Re: "CBS has become worse and a bigger joke that PRAVDA ever was during the cold war."

I was told once that the difference between the U.S. media and Soviet era Pravda, was that most Soviets KNEW that Pravda was BS.

Ironically, I sometimes read stories on today''s Pravda that are far more believable than the garbage that passes for news in the West.

Re: "Power Ball numbers"

That was VERY funny. :-)

POLL QUESTION:

What is more informative:

1. CBS pretending to be a serious news outlet.
2. John Stewart being a comedian pretending to be a serious news outlet.

Isn''t it funny that a comedy show has more to offer than a "news" site?

Afghanistan also had zero responsibility for the attacks of 9/11/01.

The plan to invade Afghanistan was in the works well ahead of 9/11/01, and the completed plan was on George''s desk, 2 days prior.

He related that after leaving office MSNBC hired him as a commentator but failed to ever put him on the air...but his contract precluded him from commenting with any other network...effectively censoring him. He was against the Iraq war prior to the attack...like Phil Donahue...whose top rated show was knocked off the air because he was against the war.

FeelFree1,

How about this one?

Phoenix web host takes down Al-Qaeda website

How many other websites is Al-Qaeda operating from web hosts in the United States? An update on this story. "Al-Qaida Web Site''s Phoenix Hosts Follow Actions Taken In Tampa," by Howard Altman for the Tampa Tribune (thanks to Bill Warner):

For the second time this week, a Web site described as key to al-Qaida communications has been taken down by a hosting company after a call from a reporter.
On Wednesday, the site was removed by a company in Phoenix after a call from the Arizona Republic newspaper. On Monday, a Web hosting company in Tampa removed a related site after a call from The Tampa Tribune.

The site hosted in Phoenix - www.ek-ls.org - was one of six related al-Qaida sites previously hosted in Tampa, said Paul Henry, an Internet security specialist.

The Tampa host company, Noc4Hosts, "is not in cahoots with al-Qaida," said Steve Eschweiler, the company''s general manager.

The site, Eschweiler said, was one of several hundred thousand the company hosts. Web hosting companies keep banks of computer servers where individual Web sites are based.

"If there is anything anti-American, we will take them down," he said Wednesday. "We work closely with authorities any time something like this comes up."...

This guy Sounds like a fascist who is probably in cahoots with al-CIA''da to me.

We supposedly have free speech in this country. Unless these sites were advocating crimes, then this guy looks like the anti-American to me, for his intent to stifle legitimate free speech.

If "al Qaeda" was his customer, then he was paid for hosting the site.

If this is the case, then we simply need to round up the credit card holder, and the "War on Terror" is over.

That will be 3 trillion dollars please. I would prefer payment in Euros.

PARIS, Feb. 29, 2008 -- In a world of increasingly affordable, accessible technology, where no act %u2013 however gruesome - and no threat %u2013 however dire - goes unrecorded, militant Islamist Web sites inhabit a parallel, ceaselessly shifting underbelly of the Internet.

Al Qaeda%u2019s global operations these days, experts say, are broadly divided into four major regional arms: al Qaeda in the Land of the Two Rivers (Iraq), al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (Saudi Arabia), al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (North Africa) and %u201Cal Qaeda high-command,%u201D %u2013 the core of founding fathers believed to be based in the border region between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

While each arm has its own media division, experts say as-Sahab (literally %u201Cthe cloud%u201D in Arabic) stands at the top of the media command structure.

%u201CEvery time as-Sahab posts a message, everyone pays attention,%u201D said Ned Moran, deputy director of Total Intelligence Solutions, a security consulting firm based in the US state of Virginia. %u201CWhen the central leadership releases a statement, this is significant.%u201D

Over the past few years, as-Sahab has been steadily upping its output. In 2002 for instance, as-Sahab released six militant videos, according to IntelCenter, another cyber security firm based in Virginia. By 2005, it had jumped to 16 videos. By the end of 2006, as-Sahab had released 58 videos. Last year, the figure hit the three-digit mark.

In conclusion, if this article is representative of the "al-Qaeda" threat then "al-Qaeda" is little more than a twisted and deadly joke.

The 9/11 Commission Report is equally laughable and is not at all believable, and we must have a fresh, independent investigation of those events, if we are ever to find out what really happened on that day.

Meanwhile, we must continue to work to get the Bush cabal and their accomplices before a competent judge, a gallows, a firing squad, or whatever.
