Industry Moves: Electronic Arts, Joost; Trinity
(PaidContent.org)
This story was written by Amanda Natividad.
-- Electronic Arts: Eric Brown, currently CFO at security firm McAfee, will take the same title at Electronic Arts (NSDQ: ERTS). The CFO slot became available earlier this week, with the surprise departure of Warren Jenson. Prior to joining McAfee in 2005, Brown served as President and CFO of Microstrategy from 2000-2004. The personnel switch at Electronic Arts comes at an odd time, given its ongoing bid for rival video game maker Take-Two. Brown will start officially on April 14. Release.
-- Joost: Jason Gaedtke is joining as chief architect, Joost confirmed after a Multichannel News report. Dirk-Willem van Gulik, Joost's previous CTO, left the company earlier this year to join BBC's Future Media and Technology Group as chief technical architect. Gaedtke worked briefly with CableLabs, where he led internet-related research projects, meta-data management and online gaming platforms.
-- Trinity Ventures: Ashu Garg will join the company as an executive-in-residence to help identify next-generation advertising and digital media opportunities. Having held a variety of operating management roles at McKinsey & Company and Cadence Design Systems, Garg was most recently GM of Microsoft's (NSDQ: MSFT) Online Services business.
