McConaughey Enjoys Edgy New Role
(CBS)
Matthew McConaughey says his new film, "The Ghosts of Girlfriends Past," is "adult humor for the young at heart."
McConaughey, who began filming 6 weeks ago in Boston, said on his MySpace Celebrity blog yesterday that "it's cool being in a very edgy comedy where the dialogue and situations skirt that 'R' rated innuendo."
McConaughy is already working with co-star Jennifer Garner, whom he calls an "elegant, down-home girl ... a real pro," and says he looks forward to beginning scenes with Michael Douglas, who will play his "playboy uncle."
McConaughy says his character, Conner Mead, provides cynical yet truthful insights into love, marriage and family throughout the movie. That is until "all those damn ghosts of my girlfriends come visit me and scare the you know what outta me ... hopefully, I'll make it out alive ..."
"The Ghosts of Girlfriends Past" is scheduled to be released Feb. 19, 2009.
