Rep. Tom Reynolds' (R-N.Y.) retirement announcement is merely the latest discouraging sign for the electoral prospects of House Republicans in November.

The NRCC's monthly fundraising numbers are in -- at the end of February, the committee reported banking $5.1 million, over $1.3 million less than their total last month.  By contrast, the DCCC now has about $38 million in their campaign account.

Sen. Norm Coleman (R-Minn.) called SNL comedian Al Franken, his likely Democratic opponent, "mean, angry and divisive."

A newly-released American Research Group poll shows Sen. John Sununu (R-N.H.) trailing former New Hampshire governor Jeanne Shaheen, 47 percent to 33 percent.

Democrats now have a strong recruit, Caddo Parish District Attorney Paul Carmouche, to run for the Shreveport-area race to succeed retiring Rep. Jim McCrery (R-La.).

Rep. Paul Broun (R-Ga.) is claiming a huge lead over his two primary opponents in the July 15 primary. Broun scored a shocking upset last year over an establishment Republican to win the seat of the late Rep. Charlie Norwood.

Some leading Republican Congressional candidates are already attempting to use the immigration issue to their advantage.

Former senator Trent Lott is taking sides in the Republican special election runoff for the House seat held by Roger Wicker (R-Miss.)
