Aspiring Pol Changes Name To Pro-Life
Idaho Strawberry Farmer Vying For Larry Craig's Senate Seat Trumpets Abortion Stance
-
Interactive Abortion Debate It's one of the most hotly debated political and social issues in America. Review a history of that debate since the historic Roe v. Wade decision.
As Marvin Pro-Life Richardson, the organic strawberry farmer from Letha, 30 miles northwest of Boise, was denied the use of his middle name when he ran unsuccessfully for governor in 2006 because the state's policy bars the use of slogans on the ballot.
Now, though, officials in the Idaho secretary of state's office say they have no choice because Pro-Life is his full and only name. He says he will run for the highest state office on the ballot every two years for the rest of his life, advocating murder charges for doctors who perform abortions and for women who obtain the procedure.
"I think it's just and I think it's proper to have Pro-Life on the ballot," he told the Idaho Press-Tribune of Nampa. "If I save one baby's life, it's worth it."
Pro-Life, 66, says he hopes to get 5 percent of the vote as an independent running for the seat held by Sen. Larry Craig, R-Idaho, but not everyone who shares his views is thrilled about his campaign.
David Ripley, executive director of Idaho Chooses Life, says he knows and respects Pro-Life but fears some voters may think Pro-Life is a position rather than a candidate and mistakenly mark their ballots both for him and for another anti-abortion candidate for the Senate, thus nullifying their choices.
"I'm pretty concerned about it," Ripley said. "I think that could cause a lot of confusion out there ... (Its) more likely to undermine the pro-life movement by having a lot of pro-life votes discounted."
Others running for Craig's seat include Lt. Gov. Jim Risch, a Republican who also opposes abortion, and pro-choice former Rep. Larry LaRocco, D-Idaho.

After news of his arrest and guilty plea to disorderly became public, Craig denied wrongdoing and his lawyers have asked a court of appeals to vacate his guilty plea.

2] Same man advocates for ''murder penalty'' for the Doctor who performs an abortion, under the not-proven assumption that life begins at conception (Many people believe that life begins at birth, or that life begins when the child can naturally survive outside its mothers womb, or even some Native Americans believe the soul is not seated until the child is 1, etc - it is a religious belief without proof - what it depends upon is what you believe in your faith).
3] A Doctor who has performed multiple abortions would be guilty of multiple murders.
4] Idaho has the death penalty.
5] Pro-Life therefore advocates doctors be put to death. How Pro-Life is that?.
Hmmmm.
Fascinating that there are so many pro-lifers out there (and here in my neighborhood) who privately fund the resources that help the abortion-inclined, often desperate women saving the babies AND the moms, and no one seems to notice that part! And so many anti-white, pro-black groups who say that they would rather see a black child grow up in the (tragic) foster system than with whitey, while there are MANY white and racially mixed couples who go through every hoop imaginable to adopt orphaned black children. Who stands up for THEM? They can''t rescue these poor kids because of arrogant racists, and the children grow up never knowing they were wanted. Come on, would you rather have parents of a different color, or be a throwaway child? Members of the liberal legal establishment work hard every day to keep minority children out of loving homes.
Most of the help given to unwed mothers comes not from the state, but from private groups. Millions and millions each year.
And which groups are out in the jungles and inner cities, saving the lives of people of all colors? At their own expense, without waiting for bureaucrats to rescue them? That''s right, the pro-lifers!
How sad that people rant and rave without getting the facts. They just need someone to hate.
3000 children die every day from malaria and other easily preventable disease, but nobody seems to care when those children are brown instead of white.
Start giving a *** about "postborn" life, and maybe his concerns about "preborn" life would be taken seriously.

I find it very interesting that the so called pro-lifers are the same ones that are always voting to cut funding for programs that benefit children, single mothers, the foster care programs, etc.
They never want to put their money where their mouths are. Being pro-life is easy. You can imagine saving all of the pretty pink little babies and never let the truth of the matter get in the way of your fantasies. If Americans are so enamoured of babies, why do we have hundreds of thousands of babies waiting for a safe a loving home??
Are all of these pro-lifers foster parents. Have they all adopted a special needs child? Have they demanded that money be allocated to help sinle you mothers with day care, emotional support, etc.
A perfect example of the idiot Republican take on this was a number of years ago when the Republicans had gathered up the Catholics on this issue, and then sent forth a bill that any girl under 18 that got pregnant wouldn''t be eligible for welfare. Well that got squashed when the Catholics got wind of it. They are hypocrites.
I have hurt my family when I legally changed my full name years ago. I went to court to legally change it back to my full birth name. I am so grateful I did.

It''s people like you that make me sick, Fornicario. Comments such as yours above are typical of self-righteous, bible-thumping, uneducated (in world affairs - not school education) fools that live in the country I served and sacrificed 22 years of my life and some of my abilities to protect. I''m surprised others have not jumped square in your fantical @ss for that stupid remark. But then again, mine will probably either be censored by CBS or jumped all-over by other posters.

BTW - I never shot any babies during my 22 years nor did I abort any as well.
Most voters want a candidate who shows common sense and addresses a number of issues. This one doesn''t have it.
OH PLLLEASE DO!!!
Please vote for both candidates... I mean... the stance (no pun intended)... and another candidate.
Nullifying the votes of fascists around the country is the first step in making America great, if not greater than ever before!
Another nutjob extremist trying to get into government.
But in a way it''''s a good thing. Young people get to see what rightwingers are all about and will decide to move as far away from them as possible.
