As the number of Americans on unemployment grows - almost 3 million people are collecting checks - there are a few sectors bucking the trend. CBS News examined some of the best new opportunities in the series, Hard Times, Good Jobs.

For teaching opportunities in New York City, visit Teach NYC. The New York teaching program offers scholarships, incentives, and loan forgiveness. Click here for information on financial support. A nationwide way for young people to get started working in schools and communities is Americorps. Check out its Web site here, and learn more about the programs offered here and here. Teach for America is another opportunity for recent graduates. According to its Web site, it: "is the national corps of outstanding recent college graduates and professionals of all academic majors and career interests who commit two years to teach in urban and rural public schools and become leaders in the effort to expand educational opportunity."
